"HUNTED" TIE-IN!
• Spider-Man's most dangerous villain, THE GIBBON, is back and -
• He's not Spidey's most feared foe? Then why are we? You want me to read the script?
• Oh man. That's insane.

What Brian Michael Bendis did for the Armadillo and Tom King did for Kite Man (Hell yea) Spencer has accomplished with Gibbon. Read Full Review
I've read the previous issues in this particular arc and they are pretty good but this issue, man oh man, it's a real stand out. For me its an instant classic. Read Full Review
Ken Lashley does a great job with the art in this issue. Both the past and the present look amazing with great character designs and details. Read Full Review
The Amazing Spider-Man (2018-) #18.HU takes D-list villain Gibbon and makes him a sympathetic and relatable character. Fantastic standalone story and great art. Read Full Review
The HU titles now officially have my full recommendation. It’s clear that Nick Spencer put much thought and effort into them, rather than them being an editorially mandated cash-grab. I’m sure I don’t need to tell you why it’s important to flesh out some of these lesser known characters or fill out recent timelines of the more popular ones. It’s all painting a bigger picture with greater detail. That alone should be enough, but the interior art just sweetens the deal. Pick this up. Read Full Review
It's definitely hard to stay dry-eyed during this beautiful, poignant tale about being different from the norm. Read Full Review
Though not the most original story, Nick Spencer does a great job of selling the idea that the Gibbon is a character worth caring about. And in doing so, rewrites "Hunted" as a tragedy before the story is even half-done. Read Full Review
Blatant heartstring tugging works better when the story isn't working against itself, and the art is quite bland, not to mention the strange numbering making things confusing. Read Full Review
Man......
An issue that somehow managed to capture the essentials in the tragic life story of Marty Blank. One of the best in this entire run! An emotional gut punch!
OMG, that was sad
This was real sad.
Oh no I’m so sad oh no.
I wasn’t going to read this. Looked like something I could skip. I’m so glad I didn’t. It was so well done and so sad. Book of the week out of both big companies and I’ve read them all from DC and Marvel this week including Immortal Hulk (incredible) and War of the Realms (Fantastic). Excellent issue and worth a read from anyone and everyone. Gosh it’s so sad
Wow. That was so much better than I expected.
Simply amazing.
This felt almost lifted from Killer Croc's story in Batman The Animated Series, but it was pretty well executed. I felt bad for the Gorilla-Man.
Wow, ok. I kind of expected this, but still.
Right. In. The. Feels.
The poor benighted Gibbon is ground between the gears of the Hunted event, and this aside story takes a moment to mourn his downfall. It's a story told with superlative skill. The script excels at soliciting sympathy, and a gritty, painful story like this is a perfect fit for Ken Lashley's art. It certainly yanked my heartstrings hard. But I do recall that this sort of petit Walter Mitty tragedy is what the Gibbon has ALWAYS been about. Stan Lee and John Romita invented him specifically to be a lovable loser. Here, he bows out, more lovable and sympathetic than ever before.
It;s really sad story, that I missed from Spencer.
A swrviceable tale that is very emotional and brings you on quite the ride.
