Once I started reading this issue, I couldn't put it down. This issue is less about Patience's home life and more of a focus on her growing feud with the city's criminal organizations. Though she left Afghanistan behind, Patience is gearing up for another war, this time on her home turf. I'm excited to read more, and can't believe I have to wait another month! Read Full Review

Just so Patience doesn't have it too easy in getting to Santos, Niles throws a new obstacle in her way with a character that looks like a fun challenge. Kick-Ass #9 might not have had as many memorable moments as the previous few issues, but it sets the table for a major boss fight. This continues to be one of my most anticipated reads each month. The series continues to disappoint as it builds upon a base of sand, one that claims big ideas, yet refuses to grapple with them. Read Full Review

    I Review Comics Apr 15, 2019

After a long layover, I'm back reviewing Kickass.

This series is one of those along with The Silencer that I've been down on and found myself writing the same review over and over again. They also have similar issues in concept and even share the same creator in John Romita Jr.

The main difference between the two characters is The Silencer has superpowers.

Both characters are really shallow once you remove the masks and a lot more interesting when they are able to cut loose in their superhero personas.

Silencer has been canceled and I'm not sure how much longer this series is going. Both have potential but have been marred by a lack of vision for the characters.
