Infinity Wars #5 is such a massive disappointment. Gerry Duggan has failed to deliver on a massive scope that is expected from an event involving the Infinity Stones. The lack of character development for both the protagonists and antagonists of this story has hurt the impact of what should be major moments in Marvel's history. With only one issue left in Infinity Wars I highly doubt things will be turned around. I hope that I'm wrong about that but fear that I'm not. Read Full Review

When you see what the story is it's actually pretty cool. But Duggan does a terrible job not only keeping you engaged but panning out his own story. It's unnecessarily confusing and all over the place. Despite that I like Gamora and the teams going up against her. Too bad this misses the mark so badly cause it could have been really cool. Still one of the better issues with some great action sequences. Art was on another level in this issue!

This was good but a little bit fragmenty at times for my tastes.

This was the best issue of this series since Infinity Wars: Prime #1. I seriously enjoyed this issue. The pacing was soo good and there were lots of action in this issue. Some of the questions i had from the previous books are now answered. For example, i didnt know how could the Power stone be able to separate a being into two. Now Loki explains that the Infinity stones work differently in the Soul World. So that is cleared up.

This issue had lots of reveals, twist and turns. I was fully engaged. This event is starting to make more sense now. I still have questions though but i think it will be answered soon.

Mike Deodato and Frank Martin blew me away once again with the art and colouring respectively. Mike Deodato's art is always consistent but Frank Martin's colours were a bit dim for the past couple of issues but in this issue the colours popped out and were very vibrant. Loved it.

I still have some problems though. I am not sure why Hulk talks like the Hulk from Thor: Ragnarok. I really would have wished they kept Hulk out of this event and have chosen other characters who are strong, that fits the comedic tone instead. I just didnt like Hulk's tone. Also, i felt like having Kang in this book is a waste. He had one awesome moment in this book and i was glad he had one, because he is being underused a lot. He only had like 4 speech bubbles in this past couple of issues.

So overall, a great issue. I had a lot of fun reading it. It was very engaging from start to finish. It also had great art, backed up with awesome colouring. I loved it. Just wish all the issues of this event was written this way. more

This is definitely better than the last chapter. A bit more cohesive but still lacking so many details and information as to what's going on for me to care about. I mean we know what's happening. It's not complicated but why do i care about the story? I loved GOTG book and i'm still here because of it but new readers won't have that background. Great mashups of characters which are maybe the strength of this event are also the weak links because we don't have enough info and development on them. I give it an 8 because i did enjoy Duggan's humor in many parts of the story. But man was this a great idea that wasn't well delivered.
Deodato Jr. and Martin are pros at this and their art is great but still some details in the story could be missed because of the static moments that don't translate the script well. more

It's not that bad as the last one. Writing on Emma and other Cosmic Avengers is good. Art is mixed back.

The twist is okay-ish?

Hello ... Marvel ... We have a big problem.
A empty story with some minor good idea, a display of violence, some really bad entrance (Moondragon & Phyla have the worst there is).
The explaining is confuse and we have a hard time too follow what loki did. And for what, go to a place where the stones are useless ... Damn what a joke. Even if the Flying hulk make me smile !

Cover - I follow the connecting variant. This time the character on the cover are important in the story, so I let a pass for the link to what I read. 2/2
Writing - I think we lost a writer there ! 1/3
Arts - Even deodato disappoint me. Oh yeah it's fantastic, I will never master is art. But damn for this part is very hard to follow and understand sometime. Sorry Mr Deodato but it's only a 2/3 for me.
Feeling - Marvel screw me. And I'm dumb enough to take the rest of this story. What a dissapointement. 0/2 more

Loki's new set of Stones is half 616 and half Warp World. His pickpocketing gets him the 3 616 stones taken from Gamora and the 2 WW Stones he gave to Ms. Marvel and Ant-Man, and with his WW Soul Stone, they make a no-duplicates set. (And Gamora still has 3?) Considering how much sweat went into setting that up, I'm amazed that this issue's script is so subtle about it. Perhaps it'll become crucial in #6? I'm thinking his multiversal mix of Stones might be how he broke through the Quarry where Gamora could not.

Still awful. Irrelevant, disjointed, terrible characterization, characters thrown together for no reason, unfocused. The only thing that gives some dignity to this story is Mike Deodato, as bad a fit as his style is for this. Shame on me for not jumping ship. Has to be one of the worst comics of the year.
