I'm a little confused by the lack of any real indication of where this book is going, and I think that Andrews' opening is too long-winded and emotionally detached from its central character to really have Spider-Man fans interested. There's no hint of what we can expect from the next issue, and no story threads are established strongly enough to make you want to read on - so anyone who buys issue #2 is going to be doing so out of a blind faith that Andrews is going to take the book somewhere interesting. At $3.99 a pop, that's quite a gamble, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a massive drop-off in sales after this first instalment; personally, I'm enough of a fan of Spider-Man and of Andrews' art that I'll look in again next month, but if the story doesn't start moving and get interesting any time soon, Reign is going to go down as quite a disappointment. Comic Book Bin - Herv St-Louis Jun 5, 2021

While Andrews is a decent artist, his storytelling needs improvement. He delivers a pretentious comic whose visuals make no sense. The faces are often unattractive and the colouring overbearing. Just don't buy this comic, okay. Read Full Review

Well, this is an arguable story. It's dark, heavy and hopeless... But it's really good, at least this exact issue. It could easily be a one-shot, this story didn't need to be continued. But well, there are 3 issues more. What can I say about the art: it's weird, but I like it! I didn't like it years ago, but now it seems great for me. It fits with the tone of this story. I remember next issues being not that good and even awful, but maybe I'll have a different opinion this time.

P.S. It's not 10, because I have some questions... For example, how could Jonah be alive, when Peter is SOOOOO old? And where are all the other superheroes? Okay, maybe there was not that many of them in this universe and they are hiding just like Peter. more
