In spite of my serious problem with this issue's production, this is still one of the best books out this week. Thor's a historically hard book to make relevant to modern readers while still staying true to its classic roots, and Gillen makes it look effortless. This feels like a poem from folklore, not a superhero comic, and I mean that in the best way possible. Braithwaite does some exceptional work - - I just wish I could appreciate his art without always having to wonder where the inks are. Read Full Review

After the siege of Asgard, the remaining Asgardians have to rebuild their world. But the old Thor clone is still alive, pretending to be the rightful heir of the throne of Asgard. Will Thor defeat this evil clone? The best part of this story is the continuing love affair between Kelda and the mortal human called Bill. I really like Keldas character and the fact that her love affair with Bill is not over, although one is dead. The artwork looks nice and reminds me of Marie Severin. I would have liked that it was clear that Thor had finally defeated his clone. Since his first appearance in Civil War, hes been reduced to an annoyance and a character that has no purpose. I wish we wont see him any time soon after this. I wrote last issue that I wasnt sure about keeping this series on my pull list. This one was good enough to make me come back. Read Full Review

Comic Book Resources - Doug Zawisza May 29, 2010

This issue starts off with a personal conversation between Balder and Thor as they come to an agreement regarding the rule and the defense of Asgard. Braithwaite's art is perfect for that setting as the two gods' passion for their home comes through in the art as well as the words Gillen puts in the mouths of Thor and Balder. This could have easily been treated as the fill-in issue "- between "Siege" and what's next "- that it is, but it strikes me as much more. Asgard has fallen, but the Asgardians are getting back up and brushing themselves off. This is an issue where things change, and the future of "Thor" is set in motion from this point. If it gets better than this, then this book will be just fine. Read Full Review

This is the weakest issue of Gillen's run, as it just isn't particularly entertaining or gripping. Read Full Review
