You Don't Read Comics - David Harth Jan 16, 2019

Uncanny X-Men #9 delivers big time. This story arc has had some ups and some downs, but the creative team has righted the ship. They deliver a fast paced, action packed comic with this one, while still hitting all the right emotional spots. The Beast and Anole thing seems a bit out of place, but in the end it works toward the overall plot. As far as penultimate issues of a story arc go, this one is nearly perfect. Read Full Review

The art by Yildiray Cinar is amazing. There are some remarkable visual moments in this issue and the action is one element that complements the pace of the story. Read Full Review

    Comicsverse - Peyton Hinckle Jan 9, 2019

UNCANNY X-MEN #9 lacks the big steps in plot development that previous UNCANNY issues had. Yes, X-Man gains the upper hand again but since he's mostly had the upper hand for the entire storyline that isn't much of a development. Still, there are a few golden moments throughout the issue that make this one, at the very least, an entertaining read. Read Full Review

So It was nice to see this issue really redeem a series that has been faltering and not living up to expectations. Maybe there is hope yet for Uncanny X-Men to become a flagship title for Marvel like it was before all the Fox/ Disney mess. That being said if things continue to pick up then I do recommend staying on this roller coaster as it could very well be an pretty insane ride in the near future. Read Full Review

    Graphic Policy - Brett Jan 9, 2019

This issue has me excited to see what happens next but also has me trying not to think about it too much. There's some summer movie popcorn moments delivered but it's essentially one giant fight scene with little else. My teenage self would have loved that but the adult me wants a bit more from my reading. The ok visuals don't help matters either. While it's not a bad issue at all, a fine addition to the overall story, it also isn't one that you'll likely feel satisfied with on its own. It's a piece of the larger puzzle in which case it passes but on its own, that's a debatable grade. Read Full Review

Weird Science Marvel Comics - Jim Werner Jan 10, 2019

This issue and series continue to be content to just move along on the ideas of so many stories before it. Everything from the art to the story to the characters come across as bland and cliched and I just want it to end so we can move on to, hopefully, bigger and better things. I know that each of the writers is capable of so much more, but maybe it's a matter of too many cooks" Read Full Review
