A Comic Book Blog - Victor Kutsenok Aug 17, 2011

Wow was this an awesome issue. After seeing the last page, I'm just salivating for Issue #4. This one was non stop from the first page to the last. Jason Aaron is really maintaining a breakneck pace but is not skimping on story or action at all. Read Full Review

With three issues down, it's still not fully clear what ultimate challenge the X-Men are meant to face or what finally breaks the bond between Wolverine and Cyclops. Hopefully that will finally change in issue #4. In all other ways, Schism continues to be the breath of fresh air the franchise needs right now. Read Full Review

Great artwork this issue handled by Daniel Acuna. He was the perfect choice to handle this all out battle issue. Read Full Review

Comic Book Resources - Kelly Thompson Aug 18, 2011

Though the whole series has been strong, "X-Men Schism" is hitting its stride now with solid plotting work, good character moments, a ratcheting up of tension, and a good cliffhanger. This series has also been a great taste of the energy and enthusiasm that Aaron will bring to his "Wolverine & The X-Men" title when "Schism" creates its inevitable break in the family. With SCHISM expanding into Generation Hope now as well, were going to start getting a (much needed) widening view of the conflict of ideas that is going to rend the X-Men, as a team, in two. This is a good thing since this event needs move along a little faster, but also be encompassing enough to tell the story from more than just the point of view of Scott and Logan. Honestly though, Ive been craving an Xaviers School type setting for a while now, and personally cant wait to see Aarons take on it this fall once SCHISM wraps up. Read Full Review

Comic Vine - Sara 'Babs' Lima Aug 17, 2011

I can't say this book is entirely bad, because it does have it's moments -- or should I say, it has some fantastic one liners. And while the concept isn't really great, and the characterization of Emma Frost is totally off, Iit's entertaining enough to keep reading because I know it will ultimately lead to a fight between Cyclops and Wolverine, and that's all I really care about. Crave Online - Iann Robinson Aug 18, 2011

The art is underwhelming to say the least. Daniel Acuna does some decent work, but most of it sits there limply on the page. I was especially disappointed with the way he drew the four kids at their big meeting. Everybody has the same face, even the girl. Schism #3 is a mess and creates a trifecta between Flashpoint and Fear Itself as three failed massive event series. Read Full Review
