This was an amazing Batman/Joker story all around. Geoff Johns told a story worth telling and Jason Fabok killed it on the art with Brad Anderson on some mighty colors. This book was worth the price of admission for the art alone. By far and above the best illustrated Batman comic I've ever seen and nothing comes close to me in my opinion.

It doesn't change much (if not at all) about th more

I feel like this is either an issue people will love or hate depending on whether they've read their Spider-Man or not! Peter's trip to Hell is literally the back half of ASM #545, with some slight Kindred enhancements. If you don't know, 545 is the final issue in the One More Day arc, and its back half is the introduction to the big Spider-Man history retcon, Brand New Day. It's when Harry Osborn more

You think that would be painful? Imagine the one week of the remainder of the year that ASM doesn't ship. This arc is too good to skip a week!

I think there's two instances of two issues shipping the same week, which makes me wonder why they're skipping any weeks.

Not a lot happens in here but Spencer throws in another artifact in Spider-Man lore (although not as big as the character at the end of 51.LR). It also continues the plot with the Order of the Web and Mary Jane so that's always good. Once again, Vicentini nails it on art and I wouldn't mind if he was added to the art rotation on the core ASM issues.

The best arc so far in Nick Spencer's Amazing Spider-Man run. You owe it to yourself to read this. As a fan of the Death of Jean DeWolff arc, it's so awesome seeing Sin Eater in this new incarnation. If you're new to Spencer's run or have hoped off this book, this arc is a wonderful jumping-on point.

The only reason this gets a 9/10 instead of a 10 is that this arc continues past #47 (w more

The ending felt rushed and left us with no greater of an understanding of The Joker than before. This could have gotten much more deep and complex over 10-12 issues. This was a massive disappointment for me. The story itself fails to show why there was even a need for 3 jokers and it really shows how DC, more specifically Geoff Johns, never really had a plan for DC Rebirth. What was the point of the 3 Jokers? Turns out oh it doesn't really matter since only one does. Why have this mystery then? And why make Joe Chill the target to be the new joker? In my more

Yes, my ideal Batman run would work more along the line of Detective where arc would alternate between new and old villains. 6 issues to tell a story for an old villain, while using the next 6 to introduce a new villain or a new story for Batman. So that will keep the reader guessing as to who the next Batman villain or story is. If you keep using the same villain over and over again, with the same story basically, it does get repetitive and readers start to drop books

Batman Jones - Oct 29, 2020

Never had a plan for Rebirth indeed. So true. I remember loving and being so excited by DC Rebirth Special and each of the promising new arcs that were clearly meant to spin out of it. Well, I re-read it after reading this issue and was flabbergasted that not a single thing in that comic book resulted in anything at all, apart from that dang button. (Remember Diana's brother Jason? Yeah, me neither.) Literally nothing came from that Special apart from the utterly disappointing Doomsday Clock.
