WOW! What an amazing start to this series! I'm not even that big on Tom King but this might be the best debut issue I've read from him. And Greg Smallwood's artwork is so good that it's gonna look to overshadow nearly if not all comic artists working on books right now.

Christopher Chance has 12 days to solve his own murder and it looks like each issue might cover one day. I'm excited. more

I think I'm gonna trade-wait this series or at least do the same thing with Spider-Man Beyond and wait until I have all the issues before reviewing them.

Ben Reilly posted on their own profile Nov 22, 2021

In all honesty, I'm really just coming here to review Batman 89 and Superman 78. I'm saving Beyond until the very end when it's all set and done so I can throw out a bunch of reviews in a short time frame. I haven't read the newest issues of Superman 78 because I haven't been to my shop in a while but I'll throw out a review for Batman 89 today and hopefully next week I'll tackel Superman 78.

Hey, sorry for the message here but what did you think of No Way Home trailer? Also, I read Fear State, and call me crazy but I really enjoyed James Tynion IV's final Batman story. I dont know if you would be okay since James Tynion IV isnt Grant Morrison or Scott Snyder, but I would love to read your reviews when you're ready to come back.

Hey, I thought the NWH trailer was amazing! I'm certain Tobey and Andrew are in the movie but everything in that trailer was good. I haven't read the Corwardly Lot/Fear State stuff yet (personal life got really busy) but once I do get to them I'll review them.

Like most people have been saying, this is the weakest issue in the run so far. I've never seen the artist before but it seems like they are trying REALLY hard to emulate Ryan Ottley. Ottley is a fine artist but I don't think his style fits Marvel or DC very well and neither does this. I like seeing Jon interact with Justice League members (Wally!) so that makes me happy. I think I'm at a point where DC limited series and black label stuff seems to work a lot more for me than their ongoings. The only ongoings I have right now are Superman Son of Kal El and Nightwing, both written by Taylor (hint hint to my likability towards the man's writing). For me, Tom Taylor feels like the best DC writer in ages. He understands nearly every character that he writes, so each more

I'm gonna wait until Beyond is over so I can do a full review of the run. But from what we got so far, I can easily say it's the most fun I've had with the title since JRJR left the JMS run.

Imagine getting so triggered by a writer that you have to start your day with a rant about said writer. Imagine also hating on a writer but constantly continue to read their work. It's pretty stupid right? If that applies to you, I encourage you to stop reading comics for a while and enjoy life while it lasts and not waste time on things that don't make you happy. More than a nostalgia grab targeted towards fans of one of the greatest Batman stories ever told and a welcome addition to the lore of this continuity. Great display of perfectly good Tim Sale art. I almost pity those who manage to convince themselves into thinking that this is anything less.

Hey. I'll take a moment to talk about the trailer. I think it's absolutely phenomenal. This movie already looks visually better than anything that's came before. The casting could not be more perfect. Matt Reeves was already one of my favorite directors and him steering the ship is what sold me on the film.

Ben Reilly - Oct 17, 2021

The tone of the movie is perfect for Batman too. I'm also excited for the score by Michael Giacchino. March 4th cannot come soon enough. This new trailer and the one from last year are all I need. Aside from them, I'm going in blind. Really excited to see this in IMAX.

I honestly expected the reaction to this issue to actually be worse than it is. I didn't think OMD was getting undone, but now it's canon enough that MJ and Peter will stay together, which is all I wanted. Get rid of the half-assed romance subplots. Let Peter grow. I think this issue is a good example of reader assumption, and writer implication.

So first, reader assumption. Obviously, more

@Ben Reilly It'll be soonish. I have to catch up on all the comics I haven't been reading, due to life stuff. And then I have to carve out time for them. I give myself the time between now and when the last two TPBs come out to gear up for it.

No one has any clue how one should undo it, but everyone wants it done any way. I really liked how Spencer finally addressed it and gave it a deeper meaning, even if I despise this comic otherwise and think it as a lackluster ending.

Ben Reilly - Sep 30, 2021

Saying that the run sucks because One More Day isn't undone is extremely poor criticism. I have my own critiques on this run and undoing that awful storyline is not one of them.

I like the retcon a lot, as it makes things somehow less fanfic-y despite also being fanfic-y, but it's just a few panels from an 80 page issue. I want to see what else comes out of the issue before really getting into what I think.
