This feels like the culmination not just of Zdarsky’s run, but of every Daredevil story ever told. As always, Checchetto makes the action feel epic—there’s no other word for it—and it’s all backed up by an emotional gut punch. I’m sad that this creative team only has one more issue, but at the same time I’m glad that they were able to end their story so perfectly.

I’m still a little perplexed about Goldy’s role in all this. Was the Beast or the Wild using him to mess with Matt? I think that’s what’s happening, maybe it will be explained further next issue. So far that has been the only aspect of the run that hasn’t quite worked for me, but if what I think is happening is correct, then my qualms are moot. more

I'm not a Catholic or even a Christian, but the portrayal of Matt's faith in his God and his friends and how that faith carries him through a terrible final betrayal was so powerful it moved me to tears. I think I'll save what else I have to say about this incredible run for the finale.

My God! This series never misses a beat. While I believe World's Finest is the best book on the shelves for DC, I've got to give best overall to Dare Devil. Faith has been a huge part of Murdock's character since the dawn of time and here it is used in a way that brings tears to the readers eyes. I'd put this up there as one of the greatest comic runs/stories ever.

This issue single-handedly destroyed by hatred of Carol Danvers that started with Civil War II and for that is gets a 10/10. This run is going to be a banger. God bless Jed MacKay!

I've known that this was a thing since it originally came out in Japanese all those years ago and I'm glad that it finally got an English release! This was an amazing read! It's clear and daylight that Yusuke Osawa loves Spider-Man and his world and this 300-or-so page story did this it justice! Great writing and fantastic artwork with kinetic action sequences. This would be a perfect 10/10 if the ending wasn't rushed. Regardless, this is a comic that any Spider-Man fan or manga fan should pick up! more

A masterpiece that will be remembered by comic book fans forever. Every issue, every damn issue, is basically a true work of art. This is what DC wanted for Batman and hopefully will one day get. I just wanted to say, if you have ever review bombed this book you have committed one of the most heinous sins know to man and should be deeply ashamed. Like, you should go play in traffic. For real. Anyway, this issue continues the greatness with story and art that mix so well. I pray one day I can own some original art from this run. more

I really wish I could say more to explain this feeling but I can't. This is cinema. This is art. Its beautiful. You see all those tens? They're legit. They are real.

When I started reading Zdarsky daredevil it was my first real run on the character. And yet.... I feel like I've been here for ages. Everything, his past present and future all comes to this.

If you've ever been a daredevil fan... even if you've not even started this run. Do it. From the beginning. Its worth it.

Full disclosure before I begin reviewing: 1) this is the first ever comic I've read that's written by Robert Kirkman. I'm very much aware of his other, more famous works. And it's only now that I've decided to read a Robert Kirkman comic because 2) the leaks of the true nature of this comic, namely a shared universe of characters from Transformers and G.I. Joe! I'm not even the biggest of fans of these two properties (despite growing up watching their stuff). I knew I had to go check this out.

This was a solid start to this series apart from what has been leaked. Here we are presented with two protagonists (Darak and Solila) coming from two different tribes (the Agorrians and the Zertonians respectively). It's a simple plot of both being mysteriously stranded on a planet and finding a way to get out, but if this first issue is any indication we are in for one heck of a ride. Kirkman's plotting and scripting has me invested in this storyline with fun characters that I can care about. Artwork by De Felici and Lopes is pretty good with an atmosphere to the art, although the few action sequences could be a bit more energetic. Lettering is on point here in this issue too.

I think everyone should check out the first issue if you're a fan of Kirkman's writing. But if you're a fan of Transformers and G.I. Joe (whose characters have yet to appear), this is something you cannot miss!! more

Okay, this whole thing regarding all the gods fighting over Billy is just awesome and so interesting to me! I hate that we won’t see more developments until the end of Knight Terrors, though. But Waid’s one of the greatesr comic writers ever. I’m checking out the Knight Terrors: Shazam issue!

Yeah this is what great comics look like. Waid and Mora are firing on all cylinders here like they are on Batman/Superman: World’s Finest (which you should read if you haven’t already).

A grear start to this run and a perfect jumping-on point for new readers.

A good ending to the BORN AGAIN storyline. However, bringing in Nuke, Captain America, and (briefly) Thor and Iron Man made things a bit unnecessarily chaotic. I guess that's the point though: Fisk being flabbergasted that Matt is still alive and so will resort to extreme measures to take him out and anyone who dares makes his schemes public. Also, there's a scene towards the beginning where Matt does something controversial. My take on that is... I don't think Matt had any other choice and did what he had to do for bring about a greater good despite how much he didn't do what he had to do, hence him saying "forgive me."

Now, I've read this storyline twice and my second read through started after my first read. Would I call this the best Daredevil story? I would say... yes, despite the craziness of the Nuke side of things. It's a story about a man who's been stripped of everything he holds dear and yet never gives up and comes out as a better man. Definitely worth reading and revisiting. more

HE'S BACK!! HE'S BAAAAAACK!!! THAT LAST PAGE...HARDEST PIC OF DAREDEVIL EVER!!!

This issue demonstrates that Born Again, amongst other things, is a tale about the power of forgiveness. Despite his secret being sold out for a drug fix, Matt embraces Karen with open arms and a heart of mercy. Miller and Mazzucchelli solidifies themselves as one of the best creative pairings of the entire medium. Marvel, if they haven't already, should be proud to have these two gentlemen tell a story like this.

One of the biggest questions surrounding Daredevil lore gets answered by the end of this issue and even though I knew what it was it STILL blows my mind!!

The opening scene of Matt remembering the incident of his blinding and a nun coming to visit him and giving words of hope was incredibly emotional and captivating. After resting in an alleyway, Matt continues his "walk to Calvary*" as Miller and Mazzucchelli pay homage to The Stations of the Cross and incorporating (as well as other issues in this storyline) Catholic themes and symbolism. That page homaging the Pieta is now one of my favorite images from a comic book.

I don't know if I made it clear in any of my previous Daredevil reviews, but I am a big fan of Ben Urich. I loved his character as shown in the live action MCU show. That same love transfers to Miller's Daredevil. I'm really digging his side of the story here and I'm anxious to see how it ends. Oh, and that ending...

"And I--I have shown him... that a man without hope... is a man without fear."

Matt Murdock's fall from grace continues as Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli shows the internal conflict of our hero as he struggles to get out of the bed of a very cheap motel to find the Kingpin. Karen Page continues her quest to find Matt and save her from the people trying to kill her. The ending of this chapter shows that, no matter how low the Kingpin's got him, Matt Murdock refuses to give up and he keeps on moving.

This comic may be titled "Daredevil," but this is far and above a tale about the man behind the mask, Matt Murdock. It's about his biggest fall and his glorious ascension into becoming "born again." And to me, the person behind the mask is the most important part of any costumed character from The Amazing Spider-Man to Batman to Superman and beyond. more

What an epic start to this BORN AGAIN storyline. Here we see Matt at a low point in his life and it's only going to get lower and lower as Wilson Fisk shows just how calculatingly evil he is and he strips away from our hero everything of his life. The issue ends with a great cliffhanger that is sure to get readers back for the following issue and beyond.

Frank Miller returns to the title to write this iconic storyline while also bringing back the long-absent supporting character Karen Page (who has hit rock bottom in life). While his writing is more wordy that his initial run on the character with Klaus Janson, it is nonetheless as captivating and high-quality.

David Mazzucchelli goes hard on the artwork just like he has in BATMAN: YEAR ONE and shows that he is one of the best artists to ever grace the comic book industry. It upsets me sometimes how his body of work in Big Two comics is small, but it also makes him a special kind of artist. more

Finally gonna start reading BORN AGAIN! This issue was contained in my copy of the TPB. It’s a standalone issue before BORN AGAIN kicks off.

What a nice one shot. I liked how the focus of this issue at the characters and less on the plot (although there is a plot here). Reading the inner thoughts of Matt and Melvin were good reads. Sure, it’s a text-heavy issue, but that doesn’t bother me in the slightest if it’s done well like this issue has. more

This issue was breathtaking. Chip is a master story teller and the art by Marco is amazing. This arc has been phenomenal it just stinks that it's all over in 4 months. Also I just want to put this out there. The whole notion that chip hates cops to me is crazy. I understand that in DD the Justice System is broken and there are crooked cops. But this storyline has been going on in not just this book but other crime fighting books since the 1930's. But I hate to break it to people but it's that way in real life to. I'm not saying all cops are bad but there are ones that give the whole profession a bad rap. more

The art and story combine to form a masterful comic. When a book has that big event feel but only runs through it's own title and maybe one other, it's quality. This is the way I would love to see Spider-man written in ASM by the way ;)
