There's so much going on in this issue and it ups the action with battles on multiple fronts. It's difficult to discuss how fantastic it is without spoiling things but if you're a fan of the series, this is a great issue. If you like classic anime, this is a must get. Not the best issue to start with but for long time readers, so satisfying. Read Full Review

A bit of a hectic issue, but still enthralling. Mech Cadet Yu continues to be my favorite all ages comic (and by all ages I mean 9 years and up). Read Full Review

Mech Cadet Yu #8 is another triumphant issue from Greg Pak, Takeshi Miyazawa, and Triona Farrell. Its fun, fast-moving, and looks damn good. This issue has its hangups, but they are far overshadowed by what the book does right. This one gets a recommendation. Check it out. Read Full Review

Word Of The Nerd - Brent Jackson Apr 3, 2018

I am still enjoying Mech Cadet Yu, even though it feels like it has stalled out a little story wise with Mech Cadet Yu #8. The art continuesto be as impressive as ever. The story just needs a little jump start in my opinion. Mech Cadet Yu is still a great all-ages comic book that deliversa fun story with wonderful giant robot action. Hopefully, this is just a little slip and it can return to form in the next issue. Read Full Review
