Johnson, Peterson, Conrad, Raynor, Mendonca, Loughridge, and Sharpe produce an action-packed finale, one that has wonderful moments and sets things up for the future. Superman: Warworld Apocalypse #1 delivers the epic conclusion to the entire Warworld Saga set up all the back in DC's Future State. The comic gives the big rematch between Superman and Mongul while resolving various other stories introduced in earlier issues. We've got a lot of artists on this book, but thankfully it doesn't hinder the overall final story of Superman Vs. Mongul. The only thing to really hinder it is a feeling of being rushed to the finish and while some obvious cracks in the storytelling show, the overall product was still enjoyable and I look forward to seeing where and when we continue on some of the future stories that were set up here. hands down one of the best superman stories of all time. Definitely shows why Superman is the greatest superhero of all time, good art, great plot, and great action. Warworld Saga is a success to me. Entire event is a 9 out of 10
A fitting end to the Warworld Saga. I really hope that wherever PKJ's run goes next, that it can maintain the quality of this story. It's been a long time since Superman has been this good. Let's keep it up.
Great arc, though this last chapter felt a little rushed but overall satisfying. Shame the art dipped throughout the run.
Good story carrying bad art. A couple of fun moments sprinkled across to hide the anti-climax. The Kryx-Ul status quo was great, the Lois sequence was great, and the sacrifice of Leonath was pretty fantastic. The best moment for me was the return of Lightray and the Black Racer watching her and Omac; Jack Kirby's birthday was a few days ago and this just hit me in the right spot.
Mongul's death was lame, I did not care for the Olgrun stuff, and the final battle sequences weren't all that dynamic besides the Manchester Black JLA illusion which was cool.
If this had a good artist, this book would be a lot more popular. Ever since Sampere and Federici left, the fill-ins have been pretty ass. Miguel Mendoca could have come more
The finale that focuses on all characters was a sight to watch, good involvement from other characters,action sequences and all the twists and sacrifices make this one worth an end.The climax was light hearted and delivered pure superman vibes. However, a lot of questions to be answered in the future.
Overall nice ending to an ok but to long story arc. There are some cool moments in the book but certain elements felt rushed. Glad it’s all over and we can move on to other stories.
Thankfully this nightmare snorefest story is over...It just went on and on. Hopefully we can get back to our regularly scheduled story telling and not take a year and change to tell 1 single story with a supporting cast that no one cares about.
