While Shredder enters an uneasy alliance with a deadly new partner, Casey Jones is arrested by the GCPD. Five issues in, I keep growing more impressed by Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This is a well written comic with exceptional artwork and I can't think of a better crossover that has stayed true to the fundamentals of both series and using the strengths of each to create a story that is flat-out entertaining. I have been saying that this series is a dream come true for Batman and TMNT fans who ever dreamt of this crazy mashup becoming reality, but that might sell it short. If you are looking for a comic with good guys fighting bad guys with everything on the line and want it all to be tons of fun...grab this series now. This has been another tremendous crossover and this issue does a fantastic job of setting the stakes for the next issue. Pure, joyous fun, through and through. Seeing your favorite properties cross over is at least always interesting, and when they're handled with depth and heart like they are here it makes for rewarding reading. Batman fans, Robin fans, Ninja Turtle fans, and comic fans in general will all find something to like with this book. The plot is creative and exciting, and each element and character included feels important and added in organically, and the illustrations are getting stronger with each passing issue. The penultimate chapter of the series, issue #5 offers the same high level fan service and great art that's been a staple since its debut. Writer Tynion delivers another great batch of pitch perfect crossover moments, his excellent handle of the characters offsetting any narrative quibbles. The lack of further exploration of the Ra's/Shredder dynamic is somewhat disappointing, but the book's ending hook ensures the topic isn't dead so much as pending. The art by Williams and Colwell is again a highlight from start to finish, their strong collaboration lending a welcome sense of anticipation as the series enters its final stretch. Read Full Review

This is a story you don't want to see end. I didn't think combining the characters and worlds of both Batman and the Ninja Turtles could work this well. James Tynion IV and Freddie Williams II must be having a blast working on this series because it's a blast to read. Sadly, we're now in the place where we're eagerly waiting for the next issue but also sad it's the finale of the miniseries. This is what comic book crossovers should be like. We're close to the end, and I gotta say" I really wish there were more issues to be had with this crossover because I feel like there is so much more that should be explored. it went by TOO fast for me, i wanted it to keep on going!!!
seriously at 20 pages they could have squeezed in just 2 more pages at least? especially since we've only got just ONE issue left!!! . . . . .
but i can’t complain too much. the pace moved really well, and we did get some good action in.
. . . . . it was very heartbreaking to see the effects of being trapped in a universe without Mutagen was having on the Turtles.
but this did lead to some wonderful character moments! . . . . . one really terrific scene was Donatello and Michelangelo hooking up Video Games to the Bat-computer!!! . . . . .

We seem to re-centre ourselves with this issue to get in a good position for next month's final battle. Damien comes into the fold with a great fight scene surrounding a video game console.
The more I read this series, the more I wish Kevin Eastman was drawing the book. His covers are great, and I think his tone would give a great old school feel to this book. The biggest complaint I have off the bat is that Commissioner Gordon is really whiny, and I don't understand why... I remembered on Legends of Tomorrow they called R'as Am Ghul "rozz" instead of "rayshall". They got it right here, which was a nice touch. I'll loved seeing more of Casey and the introduction of Damian. The story got a bit convoluted from there, though I did like the tease of the Intimidator Suit, whatever that is... Next issue is the finale, and I am sure it will be as rushed as possible to wrap this whole thing up nice and neat, but I would have liked mor more
