"FLASH WAR" part three! There's only one thing that can put Wally West's life back together. As he races back to the present, he has one goal: break the Speed Force! Can The Flash stop his former sidekick before it's too late?
Despite this being an eventful summer for DC, the Flash War stands out as one of the most compelling storylines. I eagerly await the concluding chapter in two weeks. Read Full Review
All in all, this issue gives readers everything they could possibly want out of a Flash story and more, plus a shocking ending that will leave them wondering just where this arc is going to leave its protagonists. Any Flash fan, whether it be from the Barry or Wally eras, should be reading this story, because Williamson is delivering one of the best Flash stories of all time. Read Full Review
If ever I could bring myself to levy a complaint against this arc, it would be that there was no reference at all to the fate of Iris and Wallace, and with the impending Flash mnage a Trois, there is a high likelihood that there wont be room in the next issue to address it either. Read Full Review
Its not getting a lot better than The Flash War right now. With a very personal story mixed with breathtaking action, this is an event delivering on all fronts even before this issues twist cliffhanger. Read Full Review
Howard Porter's art remains gorgeous. He does such a great job drawing the lightning and The Speed Force, which greatly enhances the enjoyability of the book for me. The tension in the story is created through Wally's willingness to do anything to save his family. Fans of The Flash know that this is a failed, albeit honorable, motive. The curveball comes with the introduction of the new powers. Read Full Review
Joshua Williamson and Howard Porter are turning in some truly terrific stuff with The Flash #49, as Barry Allen and Wally West's fraying relationship reaches a breaking point " with the Justice League helpless to do anything about it. Read Full Review
This arc has been one of the high points of the run so far, and it's clear Williamson is building what is likely to be a definitive Flash run. Read Full Review
This chapter of The Flash War is the best one yet. Read Full Review
In a fun but slightly filler issue, Williamson doubles down on the massive argument between the two Flashes, which also includes some fun appearances from other DC characters. The art is so very gorgeous and with one issue left, I think Williamson really hit it out of the park with this arc. Read Full Review
The Flash War part 3 is an intense ride. It ended much sooner than I was ready for it to. Wally and Barry are at full speed and they're make quite the scene. So much so it attracts the gaze of the Justice League, the Titans, Amanda Waller and even the Highfather. More details about the real reason this war began from none other than Hunter Zolomon also known as Zoom. I don't think any of us could have seen this one coming. Pick it up! Read Full Review
The strange thing about this issue is that despite being the third chapter of Flash War, it's surprisingly accessible to new readers. Moreso than the earlier issues, in fact, which required knowing a fair about the recent history of The Flash. While I'd still suggesting starting with the first TP. Lightning Strikes Twice, this is not a bad place to start reading The Flash. Read Full Review
The Flash is a book that feels both new and familiar in the most strange and direct of ways Read Full Review
The artwork by Howard Porter is fantastic as usual. Williamson's writing in the first three quarters is great, however the new forces leave me worried and concerned. Read Full Review
THE FLASH #49's end-of-issue twist filled me with disappointment. Despite on-point dialogue by Joshua Williamson and beautiful art by Howard Porter, I can't say that I was a fan of this issue. I'm holding out hope that Williamson redeems this issue with next issue's finale, but that remains to be seen. Read Full Review
Together, 'Flash War: Part 3' is a very good issue, fun and exciting, but maybe a little too much at once for some readers. Read Full Review
Flash #49 is another strong issue for the troubled series of the Scarlet Speedster, even if it is still flawed. However, the tension is there, the dialogue is better, and the story is genuinely compelling. Porter and Hi-Fi make this issue look better too, and the final product comes with a recommendation from yours truly. Feel free to check it out. Read Full Review
The story is definitely heating up and the tension is great to read. Williamson is building to something huge for the characters, but I still find myself at issue with the portrayal of Wally. I found his motivations, actions, and explanations childish and as much as I am enjoying the story, another arc where The Flash is manipulated into doing something stupid in order to unleash something worse is starting to become grating. I really want to see where Flash War is going, but the journey is starting to feel repetitive. Read Full Review
There are some cool concepts introduced, but overall it really just falls flat, and most of the discussion throughout the issue seems not to amount to much. Read Full Review
If DC continues on this track, the repetition will start to become even more obvious. Read Full Review
phenomenal book i loved every moment i can't wait to see what happens next!
While not as good as the previous parts of this story, this was still a great read with a lot of revelations. I suppose all these new forces introduced here will be a huge part of the post-Flash War part of this book.
8 is about as low as I'm going to go with Flash War I think. This wasn't one of the more compelling episodes of the arc but the arc itself is so compelling it hasn't dipped beneath 8/10 for me.
Flash War ironically slows down a bit in this issue.
Flashes are racing around the world wreaking havoc, with Barry constantly apologizing for something he has done in the past. Some light it shed on villain's plan, that kinda goes in the direction of being evil for the sake of being evil, but maybe I'm wrong and it will change. I'm curious to know what happened to Iris, Wally and Commander Cold. Did 25 century dissolved?
Good art form Howard Porter. Lightning and speed force effects look amazing, same goes for the two running speedsters.
Wally behaves recklessly and quite naively also. He was pretty easily tricked into this, but I suppose having flashbacks of forgotten memories might screw me up also. I’m interested to see how these new Zoom powers play out.
Booooring ! ... They only run with their arguments & they kind of don't care of the consequence. It's not the wally I like to read.
For Barry ... Well he's a jerk in my point of view since Flashpoint so that was just another story where he prove it.
I really didn't like the ending ... And ooooh like in Wonder Woman the JLA is wipe away pretty quickly. But this time, some Titans too.
Really a bad move.
Cover - I like the regular. In some way in link. 2/2
Writing - They kind of make a lot a time arguing for speedsters ! ... That a shame proving Waller's right ! Not the kind of super-héros comics I like to read. And with all the time Wally foes try to use the speed force for their interest, they never make a scr more
Oh wow the bad guy turned out to be the bad guy what a twist.
