This issue was a real unexpected treat. The writing was right on point and the art was a terrific fit. While I might have originally been skeptical of the concept, I'm fully won over and can't wait to watch this mini-series play out. Read Full Review

It's a great start to this event, and i'm sure things will only get more interesting as tie goes on! There weren't really any flaws besides the whole cliche teleporter ordeal, so if you see this, I'd say pick it up! It won't disappoint! Read Full Review

To be honest, its very difficult to proclaim the greatness of this new series without spoiling all of the cool moments. So, lets just do it this way: If you like Batman, giant pink robot dinosaurs, and the Power Rangers, then this is the comic for you. Just pick it up, and applaud Tom Taylor for his work. This issue was a whole lotta fun, as a League/Ranger comic should be. The art is awesome, the story is fun, make sense and I couldn't ask for a better reason for these teams to even meet. Even if you're not a Rangers fan or even a League fan, there's something here for many to have fun with. Read Full Review

Justice League/Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #1 is silly fun of the highest level. The Justice League might be first billed here, but this is a Power Rangers book first-and-foremost, maintaining that same high quality of their smash-hit BOOM! Studios ongoing. Tom Taylor and Stephen Byrne know full well where the appeal lies in a crossover like this, and they deliver it here in spades. You already know you want this. Read Full Review

DC Comics News - Sean Blumenshine Jan 11, 2017

This is highly enjoyable. It feels like a natural counterpoint to the Power Rangers comics at Boom with great writing and art. If you're more interested in the Justice League than the Power Rangers, you might be disappointed because only four of the members show up and it's rather brief except for Batman. I am okay with that because I love this version of the Power Rangers and those books have been some of my favorite reads recently. I imagine the League will show up more in future issues but this is definitely Ranger-centric. I still don't think the fight happens naturally but if I can accept it in The Avengers film for the sake of fun, I can accept it here. Read Full Review

The Pop Break - Andrew Fontana Jan 11, 2017

Byrne's artwork is appropriately cinematic for all the action that takes place this issue. His Rangers are lean and muscular, his Batman intimidating. Byrne's fight scenes flow with the cadence of a blockbuster action flick. His pencils, along with the colors, go a long way to selling the nostalgia-fest of Taylor's script. Read Full Review

Overall, when going into this crossover, you have to askyourself a few questions. Do you enjoy the characters in this comic book? Are you in the mood for a little bit of over thetop, crazy, crossover fun? If your answers are "yes" to these questions thenthis title is for you even if you may think you're too old for the likes of thePower Rangers. Tom Taylor, a WeirdScience favorite, and Steven Byrne have established a shocking tone, to go withan interesting premise in the first issue, and all the characters together earlyto make it a crossover I want to read going forward. Justice League Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #1 starts off running and doesn't let up till the end and there's no hint of it stopping, I can attest that both fans of these deeply respected series can come together and enjoy a crossover that nobody would ever think would actually happen. Minor nitpick, the lack of Rita Repulsa disturbs me so. Read Full Review

This is a classic team up comic where the two factions meet and fight one another! We dont see the end of the fight as it ends on a cliff-hanger but its fun. One thing that this story does which a lot of reboots of kids cartoons tend to do is to increase the stakes on the cosy and nice world of the readers childhood heroes by showing some real destruction with dire consequences. We will have to wait for future issues to find out how exactly this pans out though. Read Full Review

    All-Comic - Jessica Petrecz Jan 15, 2017

This book is a bucket of fun to read with the intermingling of Batman and the Power Rangers and the non-stop action throughout. Fans of both hero franchise can find something to love in this mini-series. Batman and other DC hero fans will appreciate the levity a title like this can bring and Power Ranger fans are going to enjoy seeing their heroes in new settings like Gotham City. Overall, this book was a fun walk down memory lane and was a good read with beautiful artwork. Some may overlook this title for the novelty of it, but they would be mistaken because this first issue proves that a this is going to be a substantial comic filled with great art and childhood dreams coming true. If you want a bubblegum crossover event look no further than Justice League/Power Rangers #1. The action is good, the art suits the story, and above all else the story moves at a fast clip. Justice League/Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #1 isn't perfect, but it's a solid start to a promising crossover. Tom Taylor and Stephen Byrne show a clear appreciation for the properties and their fans, delivering an entertaining romp with plenty of standout moments. The extended setup and lack of strong character work makes for a quick read, but one that has plenty of room to get even better. Major Spoilers - Matthew Peterson Jan 11, 2017

Crossovers like this tend to be pretty formulaic: Set up giant menace that somehow crosses dimensional borders, get teams together, set up a mistaken fight, cliffhanger! Justice League/Power Rangers #1 doesn't break that formula, but doesn't suffer for it, delivering a strong first chapter for a crossover I'm quite excited about. Read Full Review

    Batman-News - Elena Carrillo Jan 11, 2017

Taylor and Byrne are a great team on this all-ages romp. While the story feels a bit simple at the moment, that's not a bad thing: good guys vs. bad guys is the heart of comics and always has been. Batman feels maybe a smidge out of character here, but it's just the introduction, so there's plenty of time to see how the relationships between these two heavy-hitter teams works out! Taylor has a history with Injustice of taking thin properties and adding weight and significance to them. He may yet provide readers with a significant story as the series develops. As an opening to what I assume will be a very busy and hopefully very entertaining crossover Justice League/Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #1 is a solid comic. Comic Book Revolution - Kevin Jan 12, 2017

Justice League/Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #1 kicked off this dream crossover with a fun and effective debut. The focus on the Power Rangers was the right one to make as Tom Taylor is able to establish the team as being able to stand side-by-side with the Justice League. This choice also properly builds Lord Zedd as a real threat to both the DC and Power Rangers Universes. It's just unfortunate that some questionable character choices during the second half of the issue keep Justice League/Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #1 from being a home run. That said, this is still a comic book every DC Comics and Power Rangers fan should buy right away. Read Full Review

Its a serviceable crossover and is already proving to be enjoyable. Unfortunately, its feeling a bit to by the numbers with its set up. A crossover with a more inexperienced team withoutgods and goddesses on it " like the Titans " would have been a much better idea. It would even make more of an impact. The Titans are mostly made up of heroes who were sidekicks and have spent their adult lives understanding what its like to live in their predecessor's shadow. After the brief misunderstanding fight which would happen and the Titans could have passed on sage like wisdom about what it's like to grow up after spending their teenage years in battle. Here, sure the older Justice League members can look down on the team and say Keep up the good work kids, but it just wont have the same weight behind it. Read Full Review

Comics: The Gathering - stephengervais Jan 10, 2017

This is the kind of stuff I hate. Random company crossovers that just jam stuff together. It's not a good Justice League story and it's a bad Power Ranger story. The positive side is the colours are really nice, but it doesn't help the art that features characters in odd body positions like they are supposed to be Spider-Man or something. Plot holes abound, how are Power Rangers calling on their Zords when they are in a different universe? If the Black Ranger is randomly transported to the DCU, how do the rest of the Rangers follow?? The quality control just isn't there. Ick. Batman has fought Darkseid among others, and yet he needs help fighting the Power Rangers? Also I don't remember the Power Rangers being super powered so Batman has trouble with regular teenagers. Comics are supposed to be a fun diversion, but this was forehead slappingly bad. Bad art and bad writing with bad characterization equals a poor comic experience. Read Full Review

This issue was okay. Very generic for the first issue of acrossover series. Portal somehow opens, one person gets sucked through, meetsBatman, fights Batman, then the rest of the team show up. Very similar to theTMNT crossover like I mentioned. It was amusing when Zack refused to believethat Batman was one of Lord Zedd's monsters. I know he looks scary andeverything but you can still obviously tell that Batman is a human. The art wasreally well done. Another highlight of the issue. Not my favorite style of art,but there is obviously talent. Details good, shadings good, colors could be alittle brighter in some panels/on the Power Ranger. But other than that, I dolook forward to the rest of the series. Read Full Review

I love the Justice League and I love the Power Rangers (original MMPR mind you, remember the flip-head action figures?, Those were da $h*t) Mixing these two teams together is kind of a weird experience. It's hard not to compare this series to the recent Batman/TMNT crossover which was dope and a half, it actually worked and Ra's and Shredder team-up against Bats and Donatello, sign me up!! But here, it's a little more awkward. I honestly need to see what happens later to see how the dynamics play out. In my opinion, it would have made more sense if it was a Power Rangers and Titans mash up. I can see Wally West cracking jokes with Trini and Roy giving Kimberly some tips on how to shoot an arrow and Tommy getting a bit jealous when Kimberly, more

If you had been liking the current MMPR comic, this will be a downgrade since it has that campy TV show feel rather than the more serious tone of the ongoing series.

That said, it is an upgrade from Hitch's Justice League ongoing, but then again, the bar is so low that no one should be surprised by this.

This issue left a lot to be desired, but that's the point. If you bought Justice League/Power Rangers #1 or you plan on buying it, you're probably a fan of of both. But this issue won't satisfy all your needs, but it does leave you optimistic for the rest of the 6-issue mini-series.

Also, the description DC, Boom and other media gave of the issue before its release is wrong. batman does not mistake the Black Ranger for a villain, it's the other way around. I won't say anything else, but that's odd that the description for the issue is wrong.

Sooo, the Zords popped into the DC universe too? I'm still hazy on the psychical rules of the book so far. The story is in very generic crossover territory thus far, I'm not expecting anything special as this continues to develop. I suggest passing on this unless you are the most die-hard Power Rangers fan or you buy every Justice League book.
