Lazarus Planet: Assault on Krypton is unfortunately a very middle of the road issue. And the fact that Jons and Power Girls stories end with a to be continued for series after Lazarus Planet somewhat undermines the idea that these will have a significant impact on the larger event. If you're fully invested in the Lazarus Planet event and looking for more background stories, Lazarus Planet: Assault on Krypton #1 is the perfect fix. We've all been aware for a while that the Superman titles (Action Comics, Superman, and Adventures of Superman) were heading for a massive overhaul. Lazarus Planet: Assault on Krypton introduces you to a few of those new concepts, telling some stylish stories within the confines of the Lazarus Planet event while giving context to some of DC's upcoming Super-Stories. Dreamer searches for Doctor Fates helmet, Jon Kent gets his new comic pushed, Mercys tech is upgraded, and Power Girl gains telepathy. Readers, the cast of characters doesnt really entice nor does the dynamic of Lazarus Planet: Assault on Krypton #1 have anything to do with Krypton or an assault. The Superman cover is disingenuous, the volcano cover is deceptive, and the main cover involving Jon Kent is equally as misleading. Ultimately, fans get a title about related Kryptonian-ish individuals during the Lazarus Planet event. There is really no need to buy this issue nor is it required reading for Lazarus Planet. And frankly, it makes me concerned for the rest of the Lazarus Planet titles. Read Full Review

Very good, Louis. Short but pointless.

This entire event is leading up to the Dawn of DC events that will take place or the separate new series that will be debuting. Honestly, this does little to nothing for an event that promised more.

This is not a book we needed. Another throw-away issue for an event. BORING.
