A scintillating mix of stories and perspectives from across DC's Lazarus Planet event. With many of the major players off the board, this mix of characters excellently broadens the scope of the DC Universe. Read Full Review
Overall, this is a good one-shot, but only the Pak story really felt full of potential to me. Read Full Review
The overall Lazarus Planet story provides a reasonable if not exceptionally compelling framework for these smaller stories. But if the stories on their own are compelling that framework doesnt really matter, and Lazarus Planet Legends Reborn is the first tie-in issue that provides four compelling stories that stand almost entirely on their own with either a complete plot or character arc. This is the first issue that made it feel like Lazarus Planet is a truly global event that matters to everyone and it rekindled my interest in future issues. Read Full Review
Lazarus Planet: Legends Reborn throws a lot at you at once. The event as a whole has thrown a lot at readers, but this chapter highlights the return of underused characters in a big way. DC's renewed focus on more intimate stories that aren't necessarily about world-ending conflicts, and are more about character-driven narratives is an extremely refreshing change to see. While all of the stories were good enough on their own, and I'm excited to see where their stories take them in future DC comics, Legends Reborn lacks the cohesion of previous installments. Worth it if you're dedicated to the Lazarus Planet event. Read Full Review
Are two out of four stories worth grabbing this special? Not really. There's not a lot happening in Lazarus Planet one offs to move the story forward and this installment was the least consequential of the first batch for January. This event is going to need something significant to happen soon as this anthology approach isn't moving the needle. Read Full Review
Lazarus Planet: Legends Reborn #1 recounts three weird tales of heroes grappling with the aftereffects of the Lazarus Storm. The shorts range from just okay to just plain weird, and none has a material impact on the Lazarus Planet event. Read Full Review
The stories are too quick, the narration and dialogue are forced, and a majority of the illustrations are mild at best all centered around characters very few people enjoy. Heck, the best story and art combo was probably the one about the Question. Truthfully, I'd stay clear of any of these tie-ins as they are actually making me less and less interested in the actual Lazarus Planet story entirely. Read Full Review
Not bad. Lazarus Planet: Legends Reborn seemingly tasks these writers to put life into old and new characters. Some have potential, and others are just future loose ends waiting to happen. To truly invest in these four journeys, you have to be able to tell engaging stories. For the most part, a lot of the stories use passive protagonists in no hurry to make a difference. In other cases, the heroes can't even dress the part. On a positive note, I really enjoyed the visuals and characters in this book. Negatively, this anthology is insignificant in the greater narrative, while trying to be coy with its own. None of these stories are big enough for the word legendary, but maybe could settle for satisfactory. Read Full Review
The greatest flaw of Lazarus Planet: Legends Reborn is ultimately the concept, however, as even the best ideas are throttled with no space to present the characters the issue claims to rebirth. Read Full Review
to be honest, this issue is okay. nothing special at all. It's just fine.
