Now with Lazarus Contract, we have a golden opportunity to break new ground on a story that yes was told in a different universe, but now can be told without creepy statutory rape, and without the needed involvement of plot threads like Brother Blood or Terra in general because her existence has no bearing on this story from what can be seen. So we can have a new continuity with a new retelling of one of the most impactful stories in DC Comics history, and so far it has been being executed excellently. Read Full Review

Titans #11 is a great read! This issue has plenty of action, plenty of emotion, and Deathstroke steals the issue although it's not his title! The issue ends in a cliffhanger with Flash about to make a decision and I can't wait to see what he does! Read Full Review

As a first part to this story, this does a fine job in setting up some interesting things, but sacrificing Deathstroke's story in his own book to do it.  With that though, I found something to like with each section of this book, even if I still don't understand the Titans' timeline and who knows about them as kids and who doesn't.  We have excellent art all the way though and a story that gets me excited about what's to come and how it will possibly affect the rest of the DC Universe.   Read Full Review

The final pages feature an intriguing twist on the story, taking the Lazarus Contract in a wholly entirely unexpected direction as it moves forwards. As set-ups go, this is a commendable opening issue, and my interest has certainly been piqued about just how this situation is going to play out. Titans puts a pretty interesting storyline into play but it's one that I have little investment in, even considering my own reading of the original Judas Contract material ages ago and the enjoyment I get from the characters involved here. I'm not following the other two books and just have no interest in picking them up for this. Abnett puts it all together well here as it introduces all the right things and provides the context needed to launch into the event proper. All while giving Booth and Rapmund plenty to work with as I continue to love the dynamic that Booth works into the layouts and general energy of it. This was the first book in the Lazarus Contract, so I feel like the writers wanted us to have a lot of information. There were scenes that would have been more impactful, if less was going on. There was also a lot of build up for this arc, so expectation may have been over the top for the first issue of it. It was still a fun read and I am very excited to continue with the next story in Teen Titans. Some of the most talented artists and writers and coming together for this arc, and once a better flow gets establish, this will be one for the books. Read Full Review

The debut of "The Lazarus Contract" is a hard one to judge because there's so much set-up for the coming issues. In no way is this a bad book but some moments are executed much better than others, while others are just painting by numbers to set the plot up. Titans #11 kicks off the mini-crossover, and it does a fine job of keeping you interested and wondering where things will be heading next week. Percy and Abnett are professionals and know how to craft a good crossover. The art steals the show here, though. Brett Booths pencils mixed with the wonderful color scheme really sell this issue. Damn fine comic and a great way to start an event! This feels like a big event even though it's only four issues - but it's all character driven.

An okay start to a story that I think could be rather exciting. I think some of the reveals are rather abrupt, but they only have four issues to get an entire event in, so it makes sense to me. I enjoyed a darker Nightwing, as well as the Wally interaction in the end.

A great start to the Lazarus contract by not wasting any time to get the story rolling.

Intriguing start. Would be even better if it was done by another artist.
