I praised menton3last issue because of his amazing artwork and I have to do it once again. Just out-of-control how good this guy is at capturing the mood of the writing and the franchise. I know that this guy probably watched The Fly movies more than a few times and probably had access to some of the concept art from the films. That's the only way I can see him being this good at what he does. Every pencil stroke hits the mark and every panel is full of life. I love it and I love the art. It's breathtaking. Weird Science - Eric Shea Jul 20, 2015

While initially I thought that this issue would really grab me and make me a fan of the series, after it became over sexualized where it served no purpose and my continued frustration with the continuity from the movies being changed, this is still just a so-so book that can only be enjoyed by fans of the film series and that's only if you're not continuity crazy.......which happens.  The only real praise that I can give to this issue was the narrative style that we saw in the beginning of the book and the art, that just makes you feel like you're actually seeing a proper continuation to the film series.  Hopefully we see some real improvements to the story because this is something that I would really like to be into. Pop Culture Uncovered - Ray W Apr 23, 2015

This issue of The Fly Outbreak was good but not great showing that paranoia of who is infected and the dangerous effects of the infected who are a threat to deal with. The characters could have been written better and given more depth especially Seth. The story needs to pick up the pace a little but knowing what the effects will have on the others did have some interesting situations. Some of the sexual scenes in the issue seemed a bit forced and could have been handled better. The art is great with its painted look but does suffer from some stiff looking characters. Overall I liked it but it could have better and I hope that improves in the next few issues. Read Full Review

Bloody Disgusting - Eric Switzer Apr 22, 2015

Speaking of love, the series is shoving sex down the throats of its readers in a way that seems pointless. If the kink in issue one didnt give you a clue wait until you see that weird ass shot, bareback boning, giant dildo, and constant fuck talk this issue shoe horns in. It isnt sexy, it doesnt feel authentic, and it certainly doesnt create any kind of juxtaposition to seem like its making a point. It just seems forced to channel this Cronenbergian idea of sexuality, but fails to do so. Cronenberg is about subtextual attraction to abnormality, through the connective tissue of what makes inanimate objects more human, and how the human body can defy the human mind. It seems that Brandon Seifert doesn't understand any of this. Read Full Review

    BGCP - Andrew McIntyre Apr 16, 2015

A dull addition to an increasingly disappointing series whose only saving grace is the great atmospheric artwork. Read Full Review
