This issue has set up the readers for the finale of this current volume. Crossover will be continuing and there is an issue that will be dropping soon featuring none other than another great comic book writer in Chip Zdarsky. Hold on tight everyone this series is just getting started. If you haven’t read the first four issues, pick those up before you read this. You’ll need the previous stories to explain everything. You can always trade wait, but I’m sure you can get those floppies as well. Get this book and enjoy the ride. Hill's work shines as well in this issue with a lot of explosions, screams and ominous voices from God of Blades. The letters are essential in this chapter to help bring forth the chaos that has just erupted in the story and help immerse the reader into the comic by overlapping some of the sound effects. Crossover #5 feels a bit convenient at times, but that's alright. The only disappointing thing about the comic is that the fast pace makes it go by too quickly. However, the ending is pretty perfect. Cates hypes readers up for the next issue expertly. Shaw's art is the icing on the cake as usual. With some fun pop-culture references and a big action sequence, Crossover #5 is a fun comic to read. It stumbles in that it could use a bit more of a setup. Steps feel like they've been missed and we go from 0 to 10 in no time at all. I thought I missed an issue when I first began to read the comic. Good, good.

It was good. This series started to be boring a couple issues ago, but #5 kind of made me interested again.

A good issue that goes by way too quickly.

Not as good as the previously ones though the action was there but the content was rushed.

Quick, to the point, but I don't feel cheated. Staring down that barrel was a perfect ending and that sword makes canceled Image books look like a goldmine of ideas. Back issue bins, what a treasure. This is an ode to that.
I look forward to see if the preacher's son is going to pull the trigger.

This is just meaningless for me and I don't care anybody in this book or what or why they're doing what they're doing. I tried really hard to like it but alas it's not setup well with good characters or good backstories. I even had a discussion with one of the guys running my local shop and he said he loved god country but bailed on this book three issue in because of similar reasons. I went on to read X-men by Hickman after this and immediately was struck by how well Hickman has setup his book. Maybe not fair since I care for Laura and the X-men because of previous work but the flow and script for that issue alone is better than 5 issues of Crossover. Also it took 9 minutes to read this issue so that's another point against it...
