If you want to read this I suggest buying the collected edition of the Stray Dogs that was released earlier this year as it will fully enhance the experience as well as supporting the team that wrote it. This prequel adds enough fresh new material to warrant a series as well as satiating the appetite of the fans who became obsessed with it during the summer of 2021. Read Full Review

Graphic Policy - Ricardo Denis Dec 8, 2021

Dog Days #1 signals a return to darkness for the pups of the main story. The segments included in this story arent there to be crowd pleasers or alleviate the sadness. That said, the bond the dogs create within the pack is still given its time to shine and points to the light these animals bring to life even when its at its most terrifying. I cant wait for issue #2, even though I dread knowing what each dog went through once the killer steps into their lives. Despite that, Stray Dogs is still a world I want to spend more time in. This is a great little book, shipping as it does a month before the Stray Dogs trade paperback which is due in early January 2022. For both new and returning readers, this book is seamless addition to a number of shaggy, and not so shaggy, dog stories told with the now expected, but still surprising and emotive mix of fun dogs and human horror. Lotusland Comics - Hank Rea Dec 28, 2021

'Stray Dogs: Dog Days' #1 brings back the creative team of one of this year's best comics, 'Stray Dogs.' Fleecs, Forstner, and Simpson have more goosebumps to give with this chilling spinoff that gives more background on the dogs whose owners were murdered. Never violently gratuitous but thoroughly suspenseful, 'Dog Days' continues to shock readers whether new or old.  Read Full Review

    Geek'd Out - Gregory Brothers Dec 29, 2021

WhileStray Dogs: Dog Days #1 is not a must-read, it provides a complement to the original series. Like any good horror story, I found myself several times yelling for the victims to run the other way. But of course, that never happens. Fans of the original story will find a bit of bittersweet joy in seeing the lives of some of their favorite dogs. Read Full Review

All in all, let this review serve two purposes: 1) to go check out Stray Dogs if you're in the correct mental space for that, and 2) if you're already into Stray Dogs, to check this out. It's a unique aesthetic and emotionally compelling storytelling, and everyone involved should be commended for their work in extending the universe. Read Full Review
