This is a Spider-Man event like no other. The action is heating up as all of New York City is falling under the Jackal and the Queen's plan. Seeing other Marvel heroes play a role in a Spider-Man story has been fun yet with all the chapters, mini-series and one-shots so far, it feels like it's starting to drag on a little. Thankfully there are some big revelations here. If you've been waiting for some answers to a couple big questions, you will get them here. Also, there some big changes happening for a couple characters. Dan Slott's epic story with Humberto Ramos' frantic art will leave you gasping for air as you try to take it all in. Good quality comic. It isn't without its flaws, but pulling off a 28-issue event over 2 months is really ambitious and the Spider-creators/editors have mostly kept all the plates in the air. Recommended. Read Full Review
Amazing Spider-Man #671 was another great entry in the Spider-Island event. Dan Slott just nails Spider-Mans world. He understands that the core of every Spider-Man story is Peter Parker and his supporting cast. Even with such a big event going on they are still the focal point of the story. Read Full Review
With only one issue (plus an epilogue) to go for Spider-Island, issue #871 solidified my interest in the long-term ramifications of the event, even if it wasn't entirely appealing to the eyes. Read Full Review
As you can guess by now, my patience for the "Spider-Island" event is wearing thin. Between a story that is not enough about Spider-Man (with more than a few too many guest stars) and painfully slipping art, this book is in danger of exiling me from Spider-Island. Perhaps after the quarantine is lifted, we'll return to the fun-loving book this title transformed into when Dan Slott took over. I'd be almost ecstatic if that post-quarantine tale included some clean, crisp art from Stefano Caselli. For now, I'm counting down installments until we get past this event. Read Full Review
