Spider-Island is over. That could be a good or a bad thing. The entire story had a big epic 'event' feel without forcing readers to check out a bunch of other titles or force readers of other titles to read this. Slot poured a lot of action into this arc and Ramos managed to keep pace by drawing all the chaotic scenes, even if there were some moments some of the characters felt a little off. Spider-Man has come a long way and it's been great seeing the other heroes get involved in a giant Spider-Man-focused story. The ending is nicely executed but opens the door for some exploration in some of the repercussions of this story. It's hard to imagine how Slott will top this huge storyline. He's set the bar pretty high for himself. My biggest fanboy wish is we'll get to see at least a little more of what we had on the cover. Read Full Review

Okay, first let me get the positive out of the way. I really enjoyed this storyline, and LOVE the fact that it gave us Kaine back in what I'm hoping will be a prominent role moving forward(Scarlet Spider anybody?). BUT(you had to see that coming!), this issue felt really rushed for whatever reason... It starts with the Queen turning enormous, she rampages off page for most of this issue, and then gets killed... I mean we really didn't get a Peter/Queen showdown. Sure she bitch-slapped him, but that doesn't constitute a real battle to me. So overall this was a good storyline, but for me, the ending was a bit anticlimactic. Read Full Review

So there's a pile of cleanup that needs to happen, but this issue spends no time there. This issue unravels the web of wackiness surrounding the Spider-powered people of Manhattan and Spider-Man's desperate pitch to set everything right. It's been a crazy ride, one that didn't hit all the right notes for me, but still managed to tell a story that gave everyone a chance to see Spider-Man as more than just a wisecracking, wall-crawling Webhead. Spider-Man gets to be the hero in his own book, and that makes this gangly, sprawling adventure worthwhile. Read Full Review
