I was happy with the way Spider-Island ended but this epilogue adds so much more to the story. It's great to see the actual aftermath after a major story to add that tiny bit of realism. Too many times we see mass destruction only to find everything nice and neat in the next issue. Slott's dialogue adds some more realism as we get to see people's reactions to what's going on. The humor might be a little too much as characters are talking about quirks readers are aware of with other characters' designs. With most epilogues, the issues just wrap everything up and not much else happens. We do get to see the clean up and there might not be a ton of actual action going on but there is a lot to see here. It's a little strange seeing Caselli's art after Humberto Ramos handled all of Spider-Island but that's not a complaint. Caselli always captures the mood of characters through their expressions and Frank Martin's color art really adds a something to the already great artwork. Read Full Review

I enjoyed the art from Stefano Caselli and I give him full props for the cover and its nod to one of the most recognized Spider-Man issues ever. The work is fairly straight ahead comic book art, nothing too flashy. Caselli has a nice touch with faces and figures, plus he is great with the dynamics of a panel, laying them out like camera angles. I think the restrained vibe of the issue is better served with Caselli’s humanistic art than Humberto Ramos’ more over the top work. I prefer Ramos to Caselli, but I do think the somber tone of the book is suited to Caselli’s art. Read Full Review

Amazing SpiderMan has been an utter joy since Dan Slott came back to write it, and SpiderIsland has been among his best work on the book. It does so much right and is so much fun. The art, from Stefano Caselli, is tough to fault, and provides important visual continuity with both Ramos' style and the "Spider-Island" prologue from a few months back which was also illustrated by Caselli. However, it's the synthesis of Slott's writing, Caselli's pencils, and Frank Martin's coloring that makes the final page work so well, providing an iconic Spider-Man image that feels, in its own way, like as big a deal as any of the plot developments in the issue. The visual is an instant classic. In its own way, it's a reward for the fans as well as the character, and most of all, a perfect final image to close out the storyline with, as Manhattan becomes "Spider Island" one last time. Overall, this was a very enjoyable epilogue, deftly managing ongoing plot threads, as well as setting up new toys for Slott to play with in the future of this title. As for Kaine's future, as well as his likely certain turn as Scarlet Spider in the upcoming ongoing series... I'll just have to wait and see on that one, although I'm definitely not sure about it because of Kaine's drastic change in characterization. Recommended! Read Full Review

I really like Casellis work this issue. Its everything Humberto Ramos is not. Its well constructed with good anatomy. Backgrounds are not rushed and are rich. Characters dont look exaggerated and the action flows naturally. A very good read. Read Full Review

Just as Spidey is feeling as blue as his tights, once again, Mary Jane reminds him of how great he is and gives him the strength that only she can provide. This makes me want them to get back together even more but for now, it is more compelling if they are not together. Read Full Review
