This issue is an excellent showing from Spencer, Ottley, Morales, Rathburn, and Fairbairn, and sets up an incredibly tense confrontation in the near future. Read Full Review
An incredibly good set up for Peter, MJ, Mysterio, and the new villain, but could be a little bit better. Read Full Review
Ryan Ottley does some great work with the art in this issue. There isnt a lot of action in this issue, but Ottley finds the tension in the story and reflects that in the art. Read Full Review

A well-executed set-up for the next big arc of Amazing Spider-Man, #24 cements a terrifying villain and plays on the anxieties of its titular hero. Nick Spencer and Ryan Ottley continue to be a dream creative team for this book. Read Full Review
Amazing Spider-Man #24 is one of the most important issues of Spencer’s run. Not too much happens, but if you can call it a slow burn, it’s the best kind. It is mostly set up, but it’s done through subtle and entertaining writing, with perfect visuals to seal the deal. Every Spider-Man fan should pick this up. Read Full Review
Despite a fairly anticlimactic finish, Amazing Spider-Man #24 generates ample excitement for the book's second year. Read Full Review
Despite coming off a mini-event in which people were hunted, Nick Spencer and company take Spider-Man to a whole new low here, introducing an all-new villain that's bone-chilling, to say the least. Read Full Review
Final ThoughtsNick Spencer digs into some threads from as far back as the 90s to connect Mysterio and his newly christened Kindred and return my interest and attention to a book that took a dive for an arc. I hope we wont have to wait too much longer to return to this plot, because in what should feel like a nothing issue, I've become seriously reinvested in this mysterious Machiavellian menace. Ottley nails the expressionwork Spencer needs for this script, but you can't help but wish he had something a little meatier and more action-packed to chew on. Read Full Review
Writer Nick Spencer exhales a bit from all the recent high-minded "Hunted" goings-on, and takes some time to get back to basics as far as Peter and Mary Jane are concerned. But in taking too much space to set up the next big story - and not quite sticking the landing with it - instead of just taking some quiet time to reflect and have some quiet, smaller moments. It's not a bad issue, just uneven. Read Full Review
Holy shit!
Nick Spencer writes an incredibly fun and over the top theatrical Mysterio. Also, the mystery figure gets a name!
I missed the amazing spider man soooo much, thank you nick, dope plot, amazing run!!!
This was fucking dope.
Great issue.
That was amazing.
A great setup for this new villain. Or old. I'm so interested to know, who is he/she?
Art is great too, Beck's writing is on point.
Maybe the only downside is that we don't know who that person is?
"Did you see all that, Pete ? I sure hope so. I hope you feel paralyzied to see a man die. I hope you feel responsible. Or, hey, maybe it's just a dream. I hate when they do that. But look, I want to make sure you know i take no joy in killing someone like this. Dont let the bandage fool ya. I'm not a monster. But unfortunately, it was nécessity. See the thing is. Im not ready to know who i am. Not yet. You've still gotta guess my name. Because once you do. Pete, it'll just be me and you. Like it should've been all along. Then we can face the truth together the truth of what you did. Though i duess i should give you something to work with, if only to avoid getting one of your dumb nicknames, right ? So, hey, for now, how about.. Kindred. "
Well here we go for year two and I'm still excited about where Spencer is going. New villain and hopefully new angles. Love Ottley's art and can't imagine it without!
This guy’s preeeeetty spooky.
With all this great set up I just hope Kindred lives up to the hype. This book did a great job of getting you ready.
The creators spin up a whole issue of tension to make it seem super-duper impressive when they reveal Centipede Guy's name. I'm stuck on the obvious problem: "What should we call this guy?" doesn't crack my Top 5 List Of Biggest Centipede Guy Mysteries. And while this issue has fine storytelling chops, I'm thinking the creators' intent was not to perversely amplify my desire to keep calling Centipede Guy Centipede Guy. But that's what they did.
Predictable. I could tell going in that it wouldn't actually answer anything. I am starting to think it is Flash maybe, or Harry.
Once again, Pete and MJ's relationship seems to be entirely in bed, even if sometimes that is a bed of webs.
Still interested to see where this goes. Nick Spencer is good at setup, but not so great at sticking the landing.
