• Mr. Negative is back and wants only one thing - Martin Li. But how is that possible?
• Spider-Man is still reeling from the Kindred affair and Peter will not stand for anything else to be taken away from him.

Marcelo Ferriera delivers some great imagery throughout this issue. There are some great character moments and the emotion of the character interactions comes through in the art. Read Full Review
The Amazing Spider-Man #59 goes live this week with a look back at one of Peter's most daring enemies. Read Full Review
Final Thoughts: This issue reminds me of buying comics as a kid from the local drug store. I went in filled with anticipation and came away pleasantly surprised. Not a groundbreaking issue by any means. No major cliffhanger or shocking deaths here. Just some solid storytelling with way above average art, and it leaves me wondering what'll happen next! An incredibly solid issue with amazing action and touching emotional moments. Read Full Review
While not a bad issue on its own, Amazing Spider-Man #59 is pulled down by the tons of open plot threads, most notably Kindred that are just left hanging. Wilson Fisk takes up the mantle of the Big Bad, but to what end? Read Full Review
Amazing Spider-Man #59 feels more like a set-up for future storylines, though it does have some surprisingly emotional beats. Issue #60, which debuts after Valentine's Day, looks to be exploring Spidey's love life, and I'm definitely interested in it. Read Full Review
In what feels mostly like a transition story, Nick Spencer sets up an intriguing future for Peter Parker, while Marcelo Ferreira struggles as a Spider-Man artist. Read Full Review
Ultimately this makes for a frustrating reading experience. While Spencer, Ferreira, and the rest of the team have done a good job developing the supporting characters and creating a strong thematic thread for them, Spider-Man's quest for answers about Harry lacks the immediacy of the compelling stories being told through his adversaries. Peter not only feels like a secondary figure here, he feels unnecessary. Read Full Review
With Amazing Spider-Man #59 Nick Spencer shows that his own writing is his own worst enemy. While there are certainly compelling developments in the Kindred and Wilson Fisk storylines, when it comes to the stories of Mr. Negative and Norman Osborn that dominate this issue Spencer's storytelling just falls flat. It does not help that even after everything he has been put through Peter Parker comes across as standing still through this entire saga. That is hopefully a thing that is improved on fast. Skip this one, you can catch the gist of it in the recap next issue. It's not really important to the overall storyline, and you'd be better off just passing on this one entirely. Read Full Review
Nick Spencer manages to nail these characters really well. Even the sins-removed Norman Osborn, which is probably really difficult to write. I'm glad Mister Negative isn't just a plot device to get to Kingpin having one of the tablets, I hope he continues to play a role in the story. It looks like the next major arc will be the culmination of all the Boomerang arcs in this run, which should be a lot of fun. But I'm actually more excited for next issue. The cover and the solicitation are promising a very Peter/MJ focused issue, and we really need one of those.
A very good issue that sets up what is to come next. This issue did a great job really getting to the human element of many characters showing different layers of their personalities. This was terrific storytelling with great artwork
This series, although the rhyme has dropped a bit to add new dramas, is still forceful, pain, resignation and sacrifice are present.
The game between the human, the flaws, is really good, I will not spoil it because it is worth every penny and read it in full.
Solid issue with great art
Nice.

Recently, Kindred used the Sin-Eater to cleanse many of the city’s villains of their sins. One of those villains was Martin Li, aka Mr. Negative. Martin Li has returned to the F.E.A.S.T Center seeking aid from and old friend May Parker. Li and his alter ego Negative were spilt as a result of Kindred’s master plan but now Negative is hell bent on getting back into Li’s body. He and his Demons threate more
It's fine. This storyline ends in a nice way while setting up other threads. It's these kinds of smaller stories that Spencer writes very well. They aren't big but they are entertaining and they have nice moments in there. And the book goes to new directions, and Spencer has been good at making interesting changes to Peter's status quo, we just don't get to see it enough.
It's also nice to see Fisk being a big Spider-Man baddie again. I do hope a team-up of Spidey and DD aka Zdarsky and Spencer some point in the future, as that would be very interesting.
A bit boring an issue actually. But That doesn't change the fact Spider-Man is currently one of the best comics out there at present. It's all I really read by Marvel, but DC is quickly going downhill with everything they have, so there goes a major chunk of the competition right there.
I don't know much about Mr. Negative, so that may be part of why this story was weaker than most. still, it looks like interesting stuff on the way. The final page proves that. I read that Tombstone's going to be coming up soon. Most stories with him are pretty good. So I can say I'm looking forward to what's coming up.
" Now you've done it,Parker. Lost in your grief and your self-pity and someone else pays the price. Just like always."
- SPIDER MAN (PETER PARKER)
Pretty solid. Didnt really enhance the mr negative character but i like kingpin brewing in a spidery book.
I'm taking half point off because of Ferreira's way of drawing Harry and Norman. I never understand who's who, they are freaking identical! The story is fine, nothing great nothing bad.
Mr. Negative's sins come home to roost, and he's immediately swept away by Mayor Fisk to set up the next arc. Tablet of Life and yadda yadda, ho! I'm not too interested in that, but I enjoyed the continued Last Remains fallout for Pete and Norman. Aunt May does some solid Aunt-May-ing here, too. While there's nothing wrong per se with this issue's art, I'd still like to see ASM get a little more visual oomph.
This is not bad but it's not great either. I'm glad we're moving going back to the tablets since there are more questions than answers at the moment but I hope we get a closure or at least a connection with what came before instead of dancing around and stretching stuff endlessly. The art was very inconsistent and was bad in some places which didn't help at all.
Okay it's time for Aunt May to die. Write it Spencer !
It was funny to see Spidey get powerless against corruption in the law system. Something about reading that is always funnier than when it happens to you.
Oh and all the Osborn interactions stayed creepy. As it should. That soap opera will keep my eyes glued to the next issue.

I really don't know where this is going...I thought Martin Li was interesting as a conflicted individual, but what is this change supposed to add to the character?
The art was inconsistent and subpar in many places. And like many have also complained, Spidey is barely in this book.
