If this creative team gets signed up for a Spider-Man book, it's gonna be fun. However, Star — as in most of her previous appearances — is far too uneven in tone, going from the "nerd" and outcast who looks like a catwalk star to, well, murder. Sooner or later, Marvel is going to have to change the title of Amazing Spider-Man, as I feel that it hasn't actually been “amazing” for quite a while. The back-up story takes a twist, but be honest, are you really going to spend $4.99 for a back-up? After reading the Black Cat annual, with little impact on the Infinite Destinies big picture; I had hoped that this annual would fare better. Instead, I am left with Infinite Disappointment. There are some great opportunities for writer Karla Pacheco to express humor, including some excellent dog-oriented puns, and the positioning of a reformed gym teacher shows a real knack for memorable conflicts and quick character development, but Pacheco's panache can't resolve a story that by its very nature is designed to not be resolved. I didn't really like this annual that much. If anything it's just a way to show Star off as a foil to Peter Parker. But really it isn't even about him and we don't feel Star's decision to go back to villainy that much either. After the events of Thunderbolts, did Marvel think it would've been too similar to Suicide Squad?

At the very least seeing Nighthawk try to force Fury to his side is more compelling. As someone who read the entire Heroes Reborn saga, I find Nighthawk to be a compelling character in his motivations to be a hero. He might even be trying to fix some of the more insidious parts like Mutant genocide and Canada stripping, but considering the toxic nature of that world it's hard to say if it's a good thing.

Ripley "Star" Ryan unleashes the power of the Reality Stone in an incredibly petty rampage through Queens. Spidey drives her off, but she is utterly unmoved by a standard-issue Spidey appeal to reform. It's a shaggy dog story that's long on humor and short on meaning. The tone of the words and art walks an incredibly tight rope; this will be fantastic for a few readers, skippable for many more, and intolerable to some. The B strip provides a tiny dose of forward momentum for the event, at least.

This was decent I bought it because I always get amazing Spider-Man books. I wasn't familiar with the story this ties into so it didn't do much for me personally

This is no exception.

Just absolutely awful, Star wasn't this way until Karla Pacheco came along. The second story is okay, though.

This is a crossover featuring Spider man, the most popular superhero of all time. This is also a crossover that has the gof damn INFINITY STONES.

So why does the art and dialogue super crappy amd mediocre? The fight scenes are bland and underwhelming, I don't care about this star character, and the backup story was bad. Terrible issue all around
