• The life and times of Daredevil. 50 years in the making!
This story starts off well enough but loses steam as it reaches a murky conclusion. At the very least, I would have liked to see a little more from the framing story - something that could have tied the whole issue together a little more. Still, this issue is well worth a read for fans of the current volume or more classic DD adventures. Read Full Review
"Daredevil" #15.1 is yet another fine addition to the near-perfect work Waid, Samnee, Wilson and Caramagna continue to give readers, chronicling the adventures of Matt Murdock and friends. Slightly larger than a normal issue but not large enough to be a special or an annual, "Daredevil" #15.1 is a fun offering for fans that delivers a nice sampler of ol' Hornhead's history and adventures, which is only as connected to continuity as readers want it to be. Fun stories that told some cool early Daredevil stories. Very nice art throughout the book. Read Full Review
If you're debating about whether or not to buying a copy of this week's Daredevil is a good idea, you must ask yourself how badly you need to own every issue of the current volume. If you're dead set on having a copy of every appearance of the character that Mark Waid has written, then it might be worth the money. However, if you are not interested in an issue that's more of a diversion than anything else, with an inflated price tag to boot, I suggest spending your money somewhere else. Read Full Review
Daredevil #15.1 has two major strikes against it: it is out of sequence with the rest of this series and its stories are either simplistic or too quick. Also, since they are flashback tales, they dont feel as important. Despite some nice art, theres not enough to prevent Daredevil #15.1 from feeling like an unnecessary diversion rather than a welcome one. Its not bad but not really vital to those except for Daredevil completists. Read Full Review
-- RETROSPECTION: Lends some continuity to the issue, not essential, but appreciated -- WORLDS COLLIDE: I really like this story, it adds dimension to the cunundrum of being a lawyer and also a vigilante. I think this story was the reason for publishing this issue, it's the certainly the story that's worth your money -- CHASING THE DEVIL: feels a lot more forced into the issue than the previous story did. This is another good story though. -- OVERALL: The events in this comic take place before issue #15, so why it isn't #14.1 is beyond me. It's not a necessary issue, but I found it worth reading nonetheless.
