Things are calm and normal, and definitely will be for a long while. Things are NOT about to explode in everyone's faces, and this is NOT the last chance at normalcy that the FF will have for a very, very long time! With that being absolutely the case, Ben "The Thing" Grimm and Johnny "The Human Torch" Storm get part-time jobs to bring in some extra cash for the family - and end up getting the same job at the same location. But surely pairing a hotheaded fire guy with an exasperated rock guy is a recipe for peace, quiet and tranquility, right? And surely these two won't bring their own drama with them when working side by side, yes? Also in t more

Fantastic Four #20 brings a new little story featuring Ben Grimm, The Thing, and Johnny Storm the Human Torch getting jobs. It's a lot more fun than it sounds. While nothing big or grand happens in the story, it's very much a grounded and fun misadventure for these heroes. It really banks on their brotherly rivalry to bring all kinds of fun hijinks and shenanigans that the two get into. While not being a big story may seem like a downside, it's not for this is genuinely a fun comic story with a beginning, middle, and end that shows more of two of Marvel Comics' best superheroes. An ongoing trait of Fantastic Four is the high energy and positive mood. All the creative choices maintain that consistent tone. Theres no part of it that works against the rest. And in that way, little more needs to be said about Fantastic Four #20 beyond it being fun. Read Full Review

    AIPT - David Brooke May 8, 2024

Fantastic Four #20 takes the mundanity of working in a grocery store and plucks out family conflicts in the process. There isn't a family-based superhero comic out there as good as this. Read Full Review

Weird Science Marvel Comics - mrgabehernandez May 8, 2024

Fantastic Four #20 is a mildly amusing, one-shot that's heavy on sitcom antics but devoid of anything remotely approaching a superhero comic. If you're in the mood for entertaining fluff, Ryan North has you covered, but if you want a Fantastic Four comic that actually has superhero adventures, you may be waiting a while. Read Full Review

There's merit to the humorous script and the superhero style of this issue, but they fail to effectively support one another when combined on the page resulting in a sub-par team-up. Read Full Review

This shows that North doesn’t need a high-concept science plot to make this run work. He understands the characters, and that’s the heart of the book. This issue was a lot of fun, though inconsequential. Which is a reason why I like it! Sometimes I need a break from universe ending threats and need to be treated to the mundane. Also, Gomez’s art is growing on me.

Not my favorite issue but I always have fun with a classic Ben and Johnny squabble (see Lee/Kirby and Waid/Wieringo).

It's fine, Gómez's art is solid like akways and North continues to provide the Four with good characterization, but I would have liked to have seen a little more tension or problem solving going on between Ben and Johnny.

Some solid character work and art, but I wish there was a bit more going on plot wise. I've seen Johnny and Ben squabble enough over the years that I didn't need to see it become the focus of an entire issue.

Not awful. But we really didn’t need another down book.

It’s been several issues now of the fantastic four not kicking ass. I feel like they just stuck this here to not start a new plot before next issues bloodhunt interruption. I’ve stuck with this series since North took over but these last few issues are losing my interest. I do really like the Gomez art, and the writing isn’t terrible, I just don’t care to see Ben Grimm as a barista

Realizing I was a victim of a scam was a devastating blow. My initial investment of $89,000, driven by dreams of financial success and the buzz surrounding a new cryptocurrency project, turned into a nightmare. The project promised high returns and rapid gains, attracting many eager investors like myself. However, as time passed and inconsistencies began to surface, it became evident that I had made a grave mistake by not thoroughly vetting the brokerage company handling the investment. Feeling anxious and betrayed, I desperately searched for a way to recover my funds. It was during this frantic search that I stumbled upon the Lee Ultimate Hacker tool through a Facebook post. With little left to lose, I decided to reach out to their team fo more

If your a fantastic four fan then you can really forgive a lot in this book. It reminds me of many modern writers and their cutesy wootsey humor that just gets old after you've seen it time and time again but here it works a little bit. The reason I think it works is because it's not something out of left field like it usually is. Johnny and Ben are CONSTANTLY at each other trying to one up each other all while remaining best friends and blood brothers. It's been established. This isn't the best version of that and if your new to the FF you may say "WTF is this"? but it can work if your in the mood.
