Rated T+
The story is just getting going, of course, but with some great nods to the past and a major threat on the horizon, it a very promising start! Read Full Review
This is definitely the X-Book to check out if you can only pick one outside of Hickman's foray. Read Full Review
IRON FIST: HEART OF THE DRAGON #1 is everything you want in a clean, efficient, exciting, and entertaining action comic. The art is is dramatic and gritty, and the story moves at a high sprint. I wish the colors were a little richer because it does show as muted on the review copy, but that's a minor quibble. Overall, this is an excellent book. Read Full Review
Iron Fist: Heart of the Dragon #1 is a great read that promises fun times, whodunit mystery with a smorgasbord of martial arts action laced throughout. In other words, everything you want to see when you see Larry Hama's name on the cover of an Iron Fist book. Read Full Review

Iron Fist: Heart of the Dragon #1 is a solid start to this limited series. Now, would I say it is a must-buy or a great introduction to the character Danny Rand? Probably not, but if you are a seasoned Marvel or Iron Fist fan then you will certainly find a lot to enjoy in this series and look forward to the next installment. Read Full Review
Larry Hama brings Iron Fist to life in a way that invokes the things we love best about vintage Marvel action; the gold standard of old school superhero comics. Read Full Review

IRON FIST: HEART OF THE DRAGON #1 is a mini that's moving way too quickly to cram everything it needs into the story. Read Full Review
Iron Fist: Heart of the Dragon #1 is a bit mixed overall. It might have helped to have slowed things down a little and give more time to let the story be explained and details filled in. As is, the comic is pretty quick paced with the actual story being a little thin and specifics. There's potential here with a turn your brain off sort of adventure. While it doesn't meet of expectations, Iron Fist: Heart of the Dragon #1 still delivers some fun. Read Full Review
This was a really enjoyable first issue thats got me excited for the next issue. Iron Fist managed to stop the bad guys in this issue. I have been reading Hamas work on G.I. Joe for years and Im glad to see him working on a character like Iron Fist. I might not like this as much as his work on the Joes but add in a fantastic artist and this ends up being just what a fan of this half of the Heroes For Hire needs. Read Full Review
Iron Fist: Heart of the Dragon is an uncomplicated action comic, aimed squarely at an audience that wants to see Danny Rand knock zombie heads off and isn't interested in subtlety. The words and art both feature extremely retro storytelling techniques, though, which will be enough to turn off a lot of readers and limit the book's appeal. Read Full Review
Iron Fist enthusiasts may love this series, but newbies will find it unfriendly. While the story tries to offer an introduction to Danny Rand's world, it abandons the reader just as the party is starting. The artwork also clashes with the story and it is not a friendly sparring match. Read Full Review

Although the action scenes are a lot of fun, this first issue feels a bit messy. Overall, 'Heart of the Dragon' is off to a middling start. Read Full Review
Good start to a series I’ve been excited to read. If I had one complaint it’d be the pace was a bit fast I like a bit more buildup and development but with it being a mini series I get it.
Been reading the Deadly Hands of Kung Fu Iron Fist collection of the old black and white magazine stories and so thought I’d give this a chance because I have usually enjoyed Larry Hama. Wasn’t disappointed, this is a great first issue. It introduced the central storyline, has tons of action, great art and colouring and Iron Fist seems like the same character as he did decades ago, so it captures his personality well. I’m on board for the whole mini if it stays his good.

Learning that someone has begun collecting the hearts of dragons, Danny returns home to find Rand Tower has befallen a similar fate but is able repel its attackers. Suddenly, Danny is visited by Mother of Mercy with dire news. Heaven is burning, and all hope lies with Iron Fist.
I absolutely love Iron Fist books and more
Nothing crazy but lots of fun. I really enjoyed the art. I love when Luke and Danny are in the comics together so thats a plus.
This is fast paced and its writing is okay, but I'm not very invested in it.
Danny's excursion to all the heavenly cities turns into a fight when he finds ninja-zombies hunting the cities' dragons under the leadership of some appropriately martial-arts-themed villains. It's a simple, workable story. The art is 90s retro, but it handles action well. The dialogue, though! Are the villains suffering some magic curse that makes them all talk like 80s Skeletor? The writing's too much of a throwback for my taste -- but even if I can't enjoy it sincerely, I do see a little cornball charm to it.
