TRAPPED IN THE 616...FOR GOOD!

Welcome to New York! Gwen truly becomes a Ghost-Spider when she moves full time to the universe where Gwen Stacy died years ago. But why did she leave Earth-65? Why aren't the other spiders supposed to know she's here? Why isn't she supposed to suit up? And who will get hurt when she does?

I have to say, this comic book got my blood pumping. Seeing Spider-Gwen back in action did my heart good. It was such a pleasure seeing O.B. again since he was a brand new character for Loki Season 2 on Disney+. Also, I have to mention that I love the villain that was chosen for this run. There's not a single thing I would have done differently in Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider #1. If I could grade this as an 11 out of 10, I would. I'll be anxiously waiting for the second installment to drop! Read Full Review

    AIPT - David Brooke May 22, 2024

Spider-Gwen: The Ghost Spider #1 does enough to make you want more, offering a veiled mystery involving the TVA and Gwen wanting to make the 616 universe her home. The art is high energy, and the implications of Gwen's existence are tantalizing. Read Full Review

Comic Book Revolution - Kevin Lainez May 22, 2024

Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider #1 struggles to be new reader friendly due to Earth-65's Gwen Stacy complicated Multiverse history. Once Stephanie Phillips and Federica Mancin move past the opening to focus on building the larger creative direction and showing Gwen in action this comic book comes into its own. Hopefully the momentum created by the second half of this debut issue is carried forward by future issues. Read Full Review

    ComicBook.com - Evan Valentine May 22, 2024

Spider-Gwen: The Ghost Spider #1 takes a lot of risks in presenting a new world for Gwen to "conquer." The new Marvel Comics series can sometimes feel like it "throws out the baby with the bathwater" but there is still enough here for both Gwen and Spidey fans alike to enjoy. Gwen Stacy's new series has a shaky dismount but just barely sticks the landing. Read Full Review

With any other conceit, this book would be a great return for Gwen. Sadly, that is not the book we got. Good action with contemplative moments I like, but all in all, not the auspicious start one would hope from Gwen's latest ongoing series. Read Full Review

I really don't know anything about Spider-Gwen and only read this because it's a #1 and I didn't hate the BW Hawkeye series Phillips is doing. I'm surprised I enjoyed the writing in this because again, it's Stephanie Phillips, but maybe she's growing on me. This doesn't break the mold or do anything new it's just a fun spider adventure but I will say it also saddened me a bit. The other clone spider folks are mentioned a billion times, almost teasing even Phillips thinks it's too much, and just served to remind me of what has happened at the big two for so long now. This is just another in the long line of junk copycat content Marvel churns out just to fill the shelves. I liked the writing but hate that's it's just one of the plethora more

I don’t agree with the low scores. Good book, good starting point. Interesting in the ways they’re relating to old Gwen.

Seriously is that headband part of her head or something?
