This issue was a little boring but had some decent character development. The art supply store scene was good.
UNCONTROLLABLE CARNAGE! Eddie is losing his grip on Carnage's powers and bloodlust. Can he keep the symbiote's baser instincts at bay until they locate a suitable target? Or will innocent people begin to pay for Eddie's hubris? Meanwhile, back in Chicago, Eddie and Carnage go from Hunter to Hunted as MUSE closes in on who destroyed his studio.
I want to like this more than I do. I always hate when interior art is such a huge drop off from cover art. I've always been of the opinion that the interior artist should do cover A and the cover specialists can do the variant covers, but I know that's not the best business strategy. Still feels like false advertising. There were also a couple scenes that just didn't feel well-written. The amore

Didn't we buy it for the cover?

What a fun new book! The art was good, the writing was very good and the world building was great. You can definitely see the Battle Chasers influence in the character designs. Can't wait for more.
For fans of THE MOON IS FOLLOWING US and BATTLE CHASERS comes an exclusive new action series from rising star **LUDO LULLABI **(TRANSFORMERS, Battle Chasers) about forgotten heroes, cutthroat food trucks, and saving the world...again. Humanity survived a monstrous threat, but the world isn't better for everyone. Every day Loloi hits the road to del...
Very good ending to a very good series. I enjoyed this a lot, very Roger Rabbit-like and I'm always down for that. If I had a complaint it would be that it all just wrapped up very conveniently and quickly, it was kinda anticlimactic. It didn't detract from it too much, though. Would love a sequel series.
"It all ends here!
Oliver's journey reaches its climax as The First prepares to sacrifice him to gain ultimate power. Will Margaret and Pecos arrive in time to save him or will they be forced to watch as he's destroyed forever?"
RATED T
Not much plot progression here, but if the purpose of this #1 was to set the tone and vibe of the series then mission accomplished. Great art, the writing did its job, and I enjoyed the ride. Every issue won't be able to be like this, but as an introduction to the world it was a great first issue. Very cinematic.
The plot here is far too shallow to necessitate a swimsuit, but it was moderately fun. Most of the art is very meh, but there are a few standout pages. As a Rivals player, I probably enjoyed the concept art at the end more than the story itself.
THE SWIMSUIT SPECIAL RETURNS! Roxxon Comics is at it again when they release their own UNAUTHORIZED SWIMSUIT SPECIAL! Wasp is on the case and seizes the opportunity for Marvel's heroes to do their OWN swimwear fashion shoot all over the world! But fear not, True Believers, we know what you're REALLY here for! This super-sized special features splas...
I love the idea of a Magik on-going series. She's one of the deeper X-characters and I'd really love for more upper-tier creators to be assigned to the book. The writing is ok, the art is meh. I am mostly enjoying the story, but it's nothing ground-breaking. Overall I'm enjoying this more for who it's about than what it's about, but enjoying it nonetheless.
NEW MUTANTS REUNITE! To save their friend, Magik and Mirage have no choice but to seek help from the order his ancestors founded. But will Illyana's new power make her a perfect recruit or a natural hellraiser? And how will former leader Mirage respond when Magik starts to take charge?
This kind of misery porn isn't my usual preference, but the cover and title caught my attention so I decided to give it a try. The writing is good, the art is not. I'll probably give it one more issue to grab me.
Neil’s life has been falling apart ever since his father was killed by crooked cops. Fifteen years later, Neil’s mother lays on her deathbed and he’s stuck in a dead-end job, has nowhere to live, and no hope to speak of. Life keeps kicking Neil and he keeps taking it, too frightened to fight back. Until now. With his world crumbling around hi...
I really enjoyed this. The writing was good and art was fantastic. The setting is far from original, but it's right up my alley. Can't wait for the next issue.
13-year-old Aida wakes in a city laid waste by a massive explosion—a scene of devastation that SHE caused. Pursued by rival forces wielding incredible powers, she must discover who truly wants to help her, who wants to control her, and the truth behind her own mysterious past.Acclaimed creator DAVID MARQUEZ (Uncanny X-Men, Miles Morales) makes hi...
I have thoroughly enjoyed this series so far, but this issue was slightly less enjoyable than the others for me. It wasn't bad by any stretch, and I can't place my finger on it, but it just wasn't as engrossing as the previous nine issues. I'm looking forward to getting back on track with it next month and still hope this gets turned into a movie/tv series. It would be perfect for that.
Find out what happened when the Pyramid went to hell (complimentary) and how it makes the present day go to hell (derogatory). Come celebrate THE POWER FANTASY’s triumphant, celebratory tenth issue (issue 10 is issue 100 in old money).
Sophie Campbell is a very good writer and a very good artist. I thoroughly enjoyed her work on TMNT and she's the reason I gave this series a try. It's not the type of series I'd usually go for, but I'm enjoying it and I'll probably stick with it as long as Campbell is there.
Kara and the daughter of Lex Luthor, Lena, have come together to battle a commonenemy posing as Midvale’s very own Supergirl! Will Lena’s brains and Kara’s brawnbe a match for the super-powered super-genius from Kandor? It’s Supergirl versusSupergirl in a fight for the ages! Plus, the debut of Satan Girl!
Man, Chris Claremont really phoned this one in. This was one of the worst written comics I've read in a while, and Claremont is probably my all time favorite comic writer. The art was really bad too. Just an all around bad comic.
DOMINA LIVES! KITTY...DIES?! The startling secret of the MINI-SENTINELS and their leader is revealed! Who is DOMINA, and why does her life mean SHADOWCAT's death? And will her father, CARMEN PRYDE, stand by as even her mentor WOLVERINE is powerless to stop Domina's technological assault? Chris Claremont's all-new adventure in the aftermath of the f...
Loved this issue and love Mutina as the Outliers' first arch-nemesis. Fun concept, with the horror movie angle. Very much looking forward to seeing where this goes.
HORROR COMES TO HAVEN HOUSE! When a brilliant but exploitative Hollywood director makes a surprise hit horror film featuring a serial-killing mutant girl, there are protests at theaters around the country and a rise in anti-mutant violence in those same communities. But IS it "just a movie," or is something much more insidious going on? Will a mali...
Not bad. The "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" vibes are strong, but that's obviously intentional. Not the best Elseworlds story, but far from the worst.
Last year, DC’s iconic Elseworlds was ushered into a new era with the release of Gotham by Gaslight: The Kryptonian Age, continuing the iconic saga of the Batman of the Victorian era and pulling some of DC’s most iconic heroes into the Gilded Age. Now, the team behind the hit series returns to tell thesecond part of this epic tale in Gotham by ...
Another brilliant issue. I can't say enough how great pretty much all of the Absolute stuff has been. Superman really feels like a character early in discovering his place in a new world but not willing to betray his values. And I love how Lois is being written, the scene between her and Ra's was fantastic. Great issue.
The mysterious Omega Men have chased the Superman around the world, determined to plead their case: that only with his help and by unleashingthe full scope of his terrifying power can they put an end to the LazarusCorporation. And with anger burning in his heart, Kal is starting to listen…
First off, I am VERY much not a Fantastic Four fan. I haven't read much prior to this, mostly only issues that tied into events I was interested in. But I decided to give this a shot since it's starting over and I've heard good things about Ryan North from people I talk to, and Ramos is a solid artist. I actually really enjoyed this issue and I'll be sticking with the series for the foreseeablemore
A NEW ERA FOR MARVEL'S FIRST FAMILY! The FANTASTIC FOUR return with a new issue #1, kicking off a whole new volume of their adventures through time, space, science and the human condition! When the Fantastic Four take on Doom, things go well until they suddenly go catastrophically wrong - and they're sent to four different eras in Earth's history! ...
It's fine for a quick flip-through and a few chuckles.
PETS OF THE MARVEL UNIVERSE UNITE! Jeff the Land Shark and his friends have been caught in a struggle over the Space Stone - and flung across the galaxy to the middle of Knowhere! They'll have to work together to get back home, but what's a trial-based odyssey to the pets of Earth's Mightiest Heroes? Don't miss this fan-favorite infinity comic's pr...
Great first issue, bringing us back to this world that's a mash-up of Portrait of a Killer and Berenstain Bears. Can't wait to see how it plays out this time.
It's been eight long years since a bloodlusting brown bear drove into the city, kidnapped a kind young duck, dissected his body, and buried the pieces in the woods. The duck's family painstakingly sought justice... but this brown bear was smart... she covered her tracks... and in the '80s, there simply wasn't a way for the duck's family to find ans...
Fun issue. The Mignola homage was well done and the humor was all funny to me. Good one-off issue.
Fairyland goes grimdark with the arrival of HELLICORN, your favorite new demonic antihero! In search of his stolen, sawed-off horn, Hellicorn will stop at nothing to retrieve it, unearthing the macabre underbelly of gothic children's stories in the process. A bold new direction for this new (old) era of I HATE FAIRYLAND!
The first two stories were good, but the third story was GREAT. Always a good strategy to save the best for last, definitely put this one back in the bag and board feeling like I just read a great comic.
ALL-NEW ANTHOLOGY SERIES FROM SOME OF THE MOST EXCITING NAMES IN COMICS! From the mad imaginings of Joe Kelly (AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, DAREDEVIL, DEADPOOL) and rising artist Álvaro López (CAPTAIN MARVEL, BEWARE THE PLANET OF THE APES) comes a gut-twisting new take on Predator! A young Predator trying to prove himself prowls the Australian frontier, b...
I mostly enjoyed this book. With such a huge cast and so many stories to address it was always going to be difficult to completely nail it, but I enjoyed a lot more of it than I didn't. It was certainly distinct from a Gala, and appropriately somber as a Vigil. I especially appreciated Cyclops' reaction; it felt very in character to look at it through a more pragmatic lens and it took someone emore
One year ago, at the final Hellfire Gala, the dream of a unified mutant nation was forever shattered by a cowardly sneak attack by anti-mutant forces. To mark the moment and to proclaim loudly and strongly to all concerned that mutantkind still stands, the time has come for X-Men of all stripes to come together in solidarity and celebration. Writte...
I really like the concept for this book. With Wolverine and Deadpool having so much history already, a double-daddy-daughter-date makes too much sense not to happen. I actually hope the daughters get their own regular series team-up book, like the Wolverine and Deadpool, Cable and Deadpool, etc. books of the past. Unfortunately they gave this to Cody Ziglar to f it up. I didn't pay attention tmore
CLAWS & MUTANTS. MERCS & MOUTHS. DEADPOOLS & WOLVERINES! What's better than THE BEST THERE IS partnered up with the MERC WITH THE MOUTH? How about adding daughters ELLIE CAMACHO and LAURA KINNEY to the mission as they go up against a classic X-VILLAIN? Wolverines & Deadpools, baby!
…IN LIMBO? Has the OPPOSITION finally helped Logan reclaim his identity? But what lengths will COLOSSUS, MAGIK and OMEGA RED go to keep their prized weapon? And don't miss Ultimate MAGIK revealing the depth of her power!
I enjoyed this book a lot. The writing and art were top notch, good humor, just a very fun read. When Ock was counting Venom's "arms" and was mad that Venom had nine just to one-up him, that made me lol. Really good issue.
EIGHT-ISSUE TENTACULAR SPECTACULAR! As Venom battles the Symbiote Squad at the Daily Bugle, the Sleeper Agent attempts a daring jailbreak on North Brother Island...neither of them knowing that S.C.A.R. has a superior new ally in the war on symbiotes! Doctor Octopus is back - and he's more armed and dangerous than ever!
This is just fun. Art is amazing and I like how Otto is written. All around good stuff!

Well the art was really nice. The writing and plot were just kinda all over the place though. I did enjoy reading it with the original movie actors' voices (for characters that were in it.) Other than drawing them to resemble the actors and one line from Catwoman about being held back, there wasn't much that really connected the characters or plot to the Burton movies though.
There’s no cure for terror! Gotham is in the grip of a citywide panic attack, and only Batman can stop the Scarecrow’s viral fear formula from falling into enemy hands. Meanwhile, Harley Quinn makes her ACN television debut...by taking station management hostage! New friends, new foes, and old flames collide as Bruce Wayne reclaims his cape and...
This whole arc has been really meh to me. I really like Jed MacKay but this was probably his least interesting work I've ever read. The villains couldn't have been more boring. The City is interesting, the roster of the team is interesting, the sum is less than the parts in this case. The art was pretty meh. I did appreciate the BP + Storm interaction. Hopefully it picks up moving forward wimore
AVENGERS REUNITED! In the face of DOOM, the Avengers stood tall. Now with the IMPOSSIBLE CITY under siege, the rest of the team arrives to bring down the MASTER OF EVIL! But the MAD THINKER won't go down easy as he unleashes a deadly new weapon!
There were a number of moments in this book that had me thinking it was about to get really good, including the last page where Hellgate is like "there he is" but it never crested into good territory imo. Joe Kelly is a really good writer and the dialogue is all really good, but for an issue that was almost all action it was kinda boring. The art was meh, I've never been a fan of JRJR at all butmore
THE HELLGATE IS OPEN! Spider-Man is fighting for his life - literally - as he tries to keep Hellgate from destroying Manhattan. But what does this strange new foe want? And can Peter figure it out before his day gets a whole lot worse?!
This was a far shot and in general it had some good elements. Like the pace is nice and easy to read but I couldn't get myself through the art style and I couldn't connect to the story or with the characters. Which is in my opinion a must in a first issue...
