I was not a fan of the art in this issue and I think the design for the creature was not upheld. We also didn't get story progression here for the most part. We needed more in this issue than what we received. I hope there's more in the next issue. For love of the IP and after meeting Julia Adams before her passing, I will stick with it.

The dilogue is a little off in this issue as the guards call Red Sonja "Honey," which is not period along with some other examples. However, I did enjoy the interaction between her and Gath. I was wondering why Gath didn't outright kill her, and we did get that answered. Apparently, there is more to Grace than we first thought. A little dip in quality here, but I'm still on board.

This run got progressively worse as it went on. It started out well and then slid down to this rather disappointing and non-climatic ending. How stupid this villain is to wear the one weapon that could slay her on her back. Come on. We saw this ending coming from a mile away. Everything was just so convenient. It's just bad.

I still dislike the costume of the masked female that gets captured. The blue and purple don't work together and the mask is uninspired. I like that Black Widow has to take center stage because the guys need time to heal. The art progression does this well. The fight scene with Widow wielding the shield is cool as well. I like these three characters together.

Of course powerful people manipulate the Bible, and religion in general for evil purposes. Look at the Catholic Church back in the day. Even if you look around today there are people using religion to manipulate people. A character like the Sovereign would absolutely use religion to manipulate the masses. The fact that the Sovereign is using the lasso of lies shows that the Sovereign is lying, so Tom King is even showing that this is improper use of the Bible verses. How can you not see this?
