What I liked about the comic, is immediately the art style is different. Most of the comic is in black and white, unique from any indie comic book I have read. The art also is very detailed with some of the action sequences, without any writing. One of the downfalls of this comic is that it needs more story. Not just fractured pieces, that try in go in one direction. It needs more of a developed story that can tell the reader something. I honestly do not know where the story is going to end up at.

Aint No Grave (2024) #1

I love the comic panel coloring, each panel is detailed to each character. There are distinct features that the artist draws out, especially within the hair texture and also the shades of the characters skin tone. Im excited to see where Ryders journey ends up at, and hopefully she can continue on being the rough-and-tough woman that she is.

Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees (2023) #3

Overall, this third issue is great. Im wondering what will happen with Samanthas next investigation. I think that there will be more snooping around, and having her follow the clues, so she can figure out who the killer is.

BRZRKR: Fallen Empire #1

It has become apparent, that Keanu Reeves has brought together an incredible team, to tell an interesting story. Keanu Reeves debut for a comic, absolutely makes me want more from Keanu and the creative team. I am hoping and wishing for more characters to be explored. It would be a wonderful addition, to this wonderful comic.

Each cat has a personality, and they all need to stick together in order to make it out of there. The comic panels, are shaded beautifully and the panels really "jump off the page. I like the style of art that is presented to the reader.

I have to applaud the art, its beautiful and each panel is shaded very well. There are sharp details to the characters, and even Godzilla looks excellent. I love how the story comes along as well, and it moves along smoothly. This is an interesting plot, putting a team vs. so many monsters and villains at the same time.

Each panel was intriguing, and the colors were with a sort of edginess. These two issues so far, makes me root for Detective Strikman, and to hopefully solve the case. I also like the complexness of him, and makes me want to delve more into more of his backstory.

As the third issue opens, as the reader, I am reconnected back to Detective Bennie. Bennie is seeking out answers about the woman who he keeps seeing. He ends up on the bed of Tabby, who is nursing him back to health from a really bad injury.

Lotus Land (2023) #5

This issue was good, again there were tons of flashbacks, going back in forth between the past and present. The colors again, are very nice and lots of great shading. Especially with the details in the art, for each different character. What makes this issue great, is that the stakes are continuing to be higher and higher. I become engrossed on Detective Strikman's journey of finding the truth.

Petrol Head (2023) #1

What was most impressive were the fight sequences in between, and how Rob Williams was able to execute them in an interesting fashion. At the end of the issue, there was a cliffhanger that had me on the edge. I can't wait to indulge myself back into the Petrol Head world.

The art is what has impressed me yet again. Its vibrant, and the colors pop out on each panel. I also love the shading of each character, and seeing each individual panel come to life. Again, Rob Williams and Pye Parr did an exceptional job building this world. There is another cliff-hanger at the end of this issue. Im hoping to follow Lupa, her father, and Petrol Head on yet another adventure as they go forward.

Rat City (2024) #1

Each comic panel is beautiful, the colors are fresh and also, as the reader I was captivated immediately. It shows all the brute and the roughness of what the 2107 world looks like. It gives that sci-fi feeling immediately, especially with all the technology that they use throughout the story. I cannot wait to read the second issue.

The Whisper Queen (2024): A Blacksand Tale #1

May 1, 2024

What I really enjoy about this comic is that there is a lot of dialogue, that helps the story move along. Javro seems to make many connections as he is traveling through the cities. There are some maps, that help the reader figure out exactly where Javro is. I can see the world building coming and starting off strong. The art is pretty, its pretty unique, with everyone having elf ears. It also gives a great depiction of the action going on in this first issue.

Underheist (2023) #1

Dec 13, 2023

What I loved about this first issue is its fast pace. The other characters like Juan, Oscar and Doc all have distinct personalities. The writing is excellent, and each panel makes me want to go on to the next. Now, the illustration is detailed, David does a good job of shading and exploring with different shades. Yet again, BOOM! Studios has given Maria and David the opportunity to bring a fantastic story to the forefront. I can't wait until the second issue is released.
