    AIPT - Colin Moon Apr 16, 2024

Endlessly creative but narratively obtuse, 7174 AD continues the creative team's trend toward artistic exploration over 'comic book' function. Read Full Review

Keep comics weird, keep the ideas flowing, keep turning the page. 7174AD continues the tradition of giving readers bizarre and off center sci-fi tales that are guaranteed to make readers think about what they are reading. Read Full Review

Nerd Initiative - Janelle Holland Apr 17, 2024

What I liked about the comic, is immediately the art style is different. Most of the comic is in black and white, unique from any indie comic book I have read. The art also is very detailed with some of the action sequences, without any writing. One of the downfalls of this comic is that it needs more story. Not just fractured pieces, that try in go in one direction. It needs more of a developed story that can tell the reader something. I honestly do not know where the story is going to end up at. Major Spoilers - Jonathan Cadotte Apr 22, 2024

While it goes without saying that every comic won't be everyone's cup of tea, it's especially true with this one. 7174 AD #1 is an experimental book that isn't concerned with your comprehension and enjoyment and at times feels like it's trying to actively make it difficult to see what's going on. But there's a purity and expressiveness here that you just don't see in most comic books that feels both new and reminiscent of underground and alt comics from days gone by. Read Full Review

This is best appreciated if treated as an installment of an art book with a very very thin semblance of narrative.... and in doing that it absolutely succeeds. Ashley wood is a great artist and designer. These pages are great to look at.

But there's not really a ton of story here. A sort of vignette; the first of with is a cyberpunk romp with guys racing in impossible roads and underpass. The second a sort of concept for one of his toy lines that depending on how you read it can be cheeky or crude.

Either way I'm glad I bought it.
