Weekly Comic Book Review - Dec 29, 2010

This issue ends on an appropriate bang for the year, and promises an even more entertaining outlook for the next. The writing and art for both features are great examples of why this title gets my vote as one of the strongest series of 2010. If you haven't hopped onboard yet, it's not too late"you won't regret it. Read Full Review

The Weekly Crisis - Ryan Schrodt Jan 2, 2011

You get a brilliantly written Lex Luthor, a fantastic guest appearance the Secret Six, the insanely enjoyable Jimmy Olsen by Nick Spencer, and art from two of the finest creators in the business today. You cannot go wrong with this issue of Action Comics, which is definitely a Book of the Week caliber comic and would be a shoein if not for the fact that this has was such a great week for the industry (which, in all honesty, featured five Book of the Week caliber comics). Don't miss this. Read Full Review

Supergirl Comic Box Commentary - Anj Jan 4, 2011

As I said before, this issue kept the Lex plot moving forward but was more of a Savage family story. The now out-in-the-open revelation that other beings are trying to manipulate Lex is a nice mystery mingled into this arc. And it is all the more fascinating now that we know LoisBot is in on the scheme. Who is pulling the strings and why? I still like Darkseid ... maybe the 'Black to White' lantern energy will somehow bring him back from the dead? I don't know if we know for sure if this arc is ending in Action #900 but if it is that means that we only have 4 issues left to answer a lot of questions. And next issue we get the Joker! Comic Book Resources - Greg McElhatton Dec 29, 2010

When "Action Comics" was announced as going Superman-less for ten issues, I think most people wrote the book off. What we're getting, though, is a continuing dose of fun each month. (And if "Secret Six" and "Action Comics" each somehow get a continuing sales boost out of this crossover, I'll be pleased as punch.) Another solid, entertaining issue from all parties involved. A Comic Book Blog - Wayland Jan 6, 2011

There were some coloration issues here that really kind of threw me off. It may sound minor, but Scandal's hair being so light it's almost red was actually a bit distracting to me. I find Lex a good villain for Superman, but overall I don't hugely care for him. The non-powered, "I'm just really clever" ploy gets old after a while to me with Lex, I'm not wholly sure why. I also don't know what's going on with all the femme-bots running around, but I'm finding it a bit creepy. Read Full Review
