Again, for like the third time, this is the best issue to come out of CONVERGECE yet. It may not be a great read for everyone, but this book really captures a specific era in the DCU's lifespan, following one of its characters who wasn't treated exceptionally well. Ellis and Gallaher prove that you can have a tie-in to this event, but still tell a great story. Read Full Review

While Convergence: Green Lantern Corps #1 isn't going to win any awards, the art is in the perfect style of the original timeline and the writing is quite strong. I still am not of fan of this event, but I'll definitely pick up the next book to see how this plays out. Convergence: Green Lantern Corps #1 comes highly recommended for the Gl fan and people looking for something a bit different and is easily the best book of this event so far. Read Full Review

Blog Of Oa - Myron Rumsey Apr 23, 2015

Convergence: Green Lantern Corps #1 is so far my favorite issue of DC's two-month long Convergence event, focusing more on telling a great story rather than serving as a cog in an event machine.  We're reminded of how rough a road Guy Gardner has had to hoe and the winning team of Gallaher and Ellis effectively channel the pre-Crisis DC vibe to great effect.  Four out of five lanterns. I really enjoyed this issue reacquainting me with the Guy Gardner of old because for the most part, the tragedies that have befallen this character Pre-Crisis have been mostly forgotten.......... or retconned, so it was cool exploring Guy's past and seeing how our resident hot head is dealing with his new domed life........... Not only that, but seeing how the dome affects Hal and John was an added bonus.  A great issue for any Green Lantern fan and for anyone who was ever interested in seeing characters in an older, different light. Newsarama - Michael Moccio Apr 23, 2015

The ending of the issue falls to the wayside as the confrontation between Guy and Hal just doesn't pack as much of a punch as it could have. With the impending threat of other worlds at their doorstep, Guy going off to fight it without his power ring ultimately feels more ridiculous than poignant. Read Full Review

Pleasantly surprising look into a superhero role from three different points of view, and none of it is pretty. Read Full Review

"Convergence: Green Lantern Corps" #1 is honestly not a group of characters that I'd have editorially chosen to include for this particular era of DC Comics history. Here's the thing, though: Gallaher, Ellis and Parks take the setup and turn it into something with an interesting core to build a story around. It's not going to blow you away (sadly, few of the "Convergence" tie-ins are managing that) but it's the sort of comic that you'll come back to see the conclusion for next month. Most importantly, though, is that this creative team has made Guy's hatred of Hal seem perfectly understandable rather than the anger of a hot-headed character. If this team ended up working on a book starring Guy Gardner down the line, I'd definitely check it out. Free of the "Convergence" trappings, it would be something to watch out for. Read Full Review

Green Lantern Corps - iggy May 14, 2015

Before I go I will not be reviewing the final chapters of these issues due to money and time wasted on these filler comics. I simply can't be bothered and I apologize for anybody disappointed. Convergence: Green Lantern is a perfect example of why sometimes, a trip down memory lane is not always worth it. Read Full Review
