The Batman Universe - Jim Remolde Dec 24, 2015

This was a great send off for a great book and I give this issue five batarangs for a satisfying if not bitter sweet ending. I would like to recommend this entire series, it had some down points but overall this was an enjoyable read and I am sad to not see some of the plot threads completed such as the Lisa Drake thread form the Annual. Truthfully it would be disappointing if Gotham by Midnight was not on the best of lists for any horror fans. This series may have come to an end sooner than we liked, but it was one hell of a ride from start to finish. This story was contained, action-packed, full of supernatural elements unique to the Midnight Shift's talents, and had some consistent character development. Read Full Review

    Big Comic Page - Craig Neilson-Adams Dec 23, 2015

Its truly powerful stuff, and a fitting to end to a series Im absolutely gutted to see finish. Once again, pats on the back all round to everyone who hasworked on Gotham by Midnight over the last year, and lets keep our fingers crossed that we get to revisit this particular title somewhere down the line. Even if this is the end, however, I think Im due one last attempt to try and recommend this one to as many people as possible… seriously folks, if you havent picked it up yet, the first trade is available now (and you can win yourself a signed copy over on our Facebook page!) and the second arc shouldnt be too far behind. This is atruly unique book that provides a brilliantly twisted look at one of the comicbook worlds most famous cities. R.I.P. Gotham by Midnight, youll be sorely missed. Read Full Review

    Batman-News - Elena Carrillo Dec 23, 2015

Gotham by Midnight was a lovely divergence from the typical superhero fare, melding crime drama and horror in a perfect symbiosis with one of DC oldest and most powerful entities–along with an amazing new cast of delightful (and tragic) characters. Is this bittersweet finale a bit tidy and quick? It kind of had to be, unfortunately. But at least we got an ending of sorts and I think it's a good one. The aftermath is all for our imaginations; it's the little bit we get to carry away in our hearts and into the world. Read Full Review

The Fandom Post - Chris Beveridge Dec 24, 2015

Gotham by Midnight has been a strong series as a whole and this finale does some really good stuff in giving us closure while also being open-ended enough that whoever works these characters next are free to really move them forward. I'm naturally disappointed that the book drew to a close because the idea of working half year arcs of a supernatural design within Gotham with the crew put together here is just fantastic stuff. It's the kind of thing that I'd want to see translated to the small screen, to get novels of, to really dig into and enjoy. Fawkes and Ferreyra really hit it out of the park in this second arc and made it something special. Those who read along with it as it came out know this and I'm hopeful that a lot more will discover it in the years to come in collections and sales and realize what we all missed out. Very recommended. Read Full Review
