    Big Comic Page - Craig Neilson-Adams Sep 30, 2016

For me though, the most enjoyable part of The Paybacks is the fact that it never quite degenerates into all-out parody, still maintaining a strong storyline structure and impressive dramatic beats amidst all the hilarity. Yes, its conceivable that the quirky humour and offbeat tone may not be to everyones taste, but quite frankly, if you dont love this series with the fire of a thousand suns, youre dead wrong, and also quite possibly mentally flawed in some way. Just sayin. Read Full Review

Also, look at me for writing a glowing review without actually talking about the story content of the comic in an even remotely generic way. Read Full Review

Weird Science - Jim Werner Sep 13, 2018

This is the penultimate issue of the series and while it is mainly set up for the finale, I loved it still.  I really cannot recommend this series enough to every comic fan out there.  With the sequel coming out this summer, why not jump in now and get caught up?  I did and it was one of the best decisions I have made since eating ten tacos in one minute to win fifty cents! Geoff Shaw and Dee Cunniffe bring the action and emotion as they have in each issue. Nothing is inconsequential in this team's art. I spend extra time with this book every time just to peep the details. Inks and colors have never been second chair in this series but the "Fear" pages were fecking outstanding!!!!! If you are not picking this series up you are missing out and I hope a trade will follow the completion of the series. Heavy Metal needs The Paybacks! Read Full Review
