The war is over. The Dragon is destroyed. The city is saved. But at what cost? Splinter is gone, the Turtles are in disarray, and the Shredder has returned. But all is not as it seems as the Turtles' most-feared enemy struggles with this new opportunity to regain his honor. Meanwhile, a nearly decimated Foot Clan belongs to Karai, but can she truly rise to the task in the shadow of its greatest warrior? And how does a newly-changed Leatherhead fit into a post-mutation NYC?

TMNT Annual 2020 has done what no other version of the Turtles has ever done and landed the jumping of the shark. They have included every one of those moments that signaled the end for every other TMNT series and elevated the franchise further. They went big with City Fall and backed themselves into a corner, that they are more than ready to bust out of. I've never been more excited as a TMNT fan, than I am right now. Read Full Review

Comic Watch - Mike Eakins Aug 10, 2020

Here we are with the TMNT Annual 2020 and it was so much fun to read, it felt like catching up with old friends. Now if my choice of friends is the Rat King and Krang I may need to reevaluate my qualifications for friendship. In all seriousness, I dont know what else to say about The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and this great creative team that has and continues to bring so much joy to their fans. This creative team cares so much about what they put out and it shows. So, in my final thoughts, I just want to say thank you to Kevin Eastman, Tom Waltz, Sophie Campbell, Ronda Pattison, Nathan Daniel, Shawn Lee, Mateus Santolouco, and everyone else that has worked on this series. Thank you for the memories. Read Full Review

At the end of the day, while its perhaps not quite essential reading for those following the main ongoing series, theres more than enough great content and important character beats here to justify the cover price. Rat King is always great value, and getting to check in on Oroku Saki, Karai and the hideously intriguing Leatherhead/Krang symbiotic partnership, this an annual I have absolutely no problems recommending you pick up. Word Of The Nerd - Brent Jackson Jul 28, 2020

If you have been reading and following IDW's TMNT then you will want and need to pick this issue up. It develops several future plot points and gets you caught up with what is happening since issue #100. But don't expect it to be the most interesting read or hold your attention throughout the pages. It's nice to know that Waltz has one foot still planted firmly in the Turtles universe he helped build, but this return visit feels like an exercise in wheel-spinning that's easily skipped by fans. Read Full Review

Way back in the conclusion of "The Trial of Krang" story arc (TMNT #75) Leatherhead made the unfortunate decision to kill Krang in the most brutal way possible by eating him. The storyline with Leatherhead then picked up in TMNT #85. In that follow-up, we touched base with Leatherhead who had started hearing Krang's voice in his head and seeing his visage as it taunted him.

TMNT annual 2020 depicts the ultimate consequence of Leatherhead's actions way back when. The annual also foreshadows storylines that may be developing in the main series. It's nice to see Tom Waltz writing a TMNT title again. I know he just left with issue #100 but it feels like forever. The strength of this issue and his run on the series has always b more
