Panel for panel, penny for penny, there is not a book on the stands doing more with the standard issue twenty-two pages. The amazing thing is this book is triply stuffed with perceived throwaway characters, yet it is every bit as compelling as though the X-Men and the Justice League were throwing down herein. This book reminds me of the "Flash" back in the late 1990s, where the artistic talent found its way to this book and then on to higher profile gigs on the path to superstardom (or what passes for superstardom among comic artists). You know the period "- Mike Wieringo, Sal Larroca, Paul Pelletier. Hey waitaminnit. . . Cover by Sal Larroca? "War of Kings" by Paul Pelletier? Somewhere, Mike Wieringo is sharpening his pencil and looking down on this book. Until we can figure out how to get Mike's pages, do yourself a favor and pick this book up. It might seem crazy, overwhelming, and well, fun, but that's because it is. This book does a good job of moving forward and uses all of the Read Full Review

Abnett and Lanning should be commended. This is how you do cosmic. It’s a grand space opera on an epic scale with lots of little personal moments. Action, adventure and swashbuckling abound but even in the heat of battle, it never gets too heavy. It’s got all of those classic Marvel 1970’s cosmic characters, yet it is totally accessible for folks unfamiliar with them. There’s interplanetary magic and stuff, but it never gets all bogged down with too much deep thinking or cosmic deities; this is “cosmic” with a little c. And for all that awesomeness, it gets an A from this reader. (Actually an A-, but hey, an issue without Rocket Raccoon is not a perfect issue, I’m sorry.) Read Full Review

Guardians of the Galaxy #14 was a great read. DnA do an excellent job making Guardians feel like is not just a senseless tie-in, like most tie-ins are, and actually make every issue that is War of Kings related feel like they add rather than detract from the story. If you still haven't picked up War of Kings or Guardians of the Galaxy I highly recommend you pick up both titles as they are some of the best books on the shelves today. Read Full Review

It's hard to say whether this complaint holds any water until next week. On its own merits, Guardians of the Galaxy is still standing tall and strong. And is that Cosmo andRocket Raccoon I see on next issue's cover? This is going to be awesome... Read Full Review

While this is a minor step down in terms of quality for this amazing series, a less-than-stellar issue of Guardians is better than almost every other book out there and still comes with a very strong recommendation. Read Full Review
