This comic is the best of the Ultimate books, and continues its run at the top. One might suspect the story was accelerated to clear the decks for the Ultimatum crossover - and that may be true - but whatever the reason, the comic is fast-paced and a heck of a lot of fun. Read Full Review

And, if nothing else, this month is a real showcase for the talents of Stuart Immonen. The three-way battle between Spidey and his symbiotic enemies is a true sight to behold. Bendis and Immonen click together in a way I wish other Ultimate creators would. Stuart Immonen has always excelled at the action shots in this series, and this issue is no exception. The battle between the symbiotes, in all their gloopy red and black glory are very cool to see. Immonen really abandons human anatomy for a lot of the fight between them, instead giving them a much more mythic look. They are truly monstrosities Spider-Man in no way can deal with and Immonens art really depicts this well. Even when Spider-Man does interfere in their fight, its almost laughable because of how Immonen shows the two fighting. And the new kind of Venom that is shown at the end of the issue is very different, evolving the look of the character. The lettering of the Eddie Brock/ Venom character is very cool as well, with the tyoe of speech bubble fully reflecting Eddies surrender to the symbiote, from white, to white with a scratchy font, to full black bubble. I dunno... This new Venom form... Gwen alive and not Carnage anymore... Aunt May holding the gun. I really don't think that it is a good game adaptation. It's not, game story was much better. And Venom in ultimate comics has only few appearances... Actually, only two story arcs. Next time he will be back to fight Miles Morales. I thought he was more important, but no!
