Pete, while steadfast and good-hearted, is not the best at defeating monsters. He does, however, have the only sword that can kill Badlug and free Grimoire from tyranny. Misty and Gorga need to clear the way for Pete; thankfully, they meet Zurrd, a witch with (somewhat) impressive powers and the key to Pete's deliverance. Unfortunately, it's in the Dark Treasury, which is nigh impossible to break into. Nigh impossible is still technically possible, though!

Another Castle #2 continues strong after the first issue, showing just how capable and multifaceted Misty is as well as what is at stake for her and those closest to her. Wheeler expands past the basic concept of the book, showing us a little bit of whats behind the curtain in Mistys life and Ganucheau balances this well with her colorful and expressive art. Now, when is #3 coming out? Read Full Review

Together, Wheeler and Ganucheau are beginning to build a compelling cast and intriguing world that will be interesting to see continue to grow in future issues: now that we've had a taste of what Misty is capable of, and on the flip side what her would-be savior Pete is not, it's hard not to want to keep reading future installments to see how her efforts are received by her father or by Badlug, when one or both of them inevitably find her out. Another Castle #2 shows the series is living up to the potential it showed in its premiere. Read Full Review

Overall then, while its not necessarily the kind of thing I would pick up myself, I absolutely love that there are comics like this out there on the shelves. Perfect for little girls who like princesses, little boys who like princesses, and grown adults who like goddamn princesses, this is a progressive, positive and gloriously fun series that deserves to be seen by as many eyes as possible. I was glad to see that even though Prince Pete is kind of an airhead, that he still has SOME redeeming qualities. I also like that the focus of this issues story focuses on the monster lady who was contracted by Badlug to create a monster gauntlet to kill Pete so he can marry the princess. I have thoroughly enjoyed Paulina Ganucheau's art, and I love how much it feels so much brighter than the tone of the story itself. This book has a brightness to it that helps to heighten the depth of the darkness when it comes to it. Not everything has to be all bleak and dark the whole time...
