Everything's gone to sh*t. But what else is new for a barbarian cursed to do good, who has to follow the commands of a bloodthirsty axe? It's just that today's a little worse. With Owen's back against the wall, and his enemies eager to chop him to bits, things are looking especially grim as the first arc of BARBARIC comes to a close.

'Barbaric' #3 ends the first arc far too soon but it's a satisfying, mind-blowing good time that leaves readers clamoring for more adventures with Owen and the gang. It reads like the third act of an epic blockbuster film where nothing is held back and it's just one chaotic smorgasbord of blood and guts. One of this year's biggest new titles will go on hiatus but what a way to go out. Read Full Review

Barbaric was a wonderful breath of fresh air when it began but it was also incredibly nostalgic at the same time to some of my 80s and 90s comic origins. Owe may just be a barbarian but there's plenty of nuance to him and then the whole curse thing itself. The axe is the perfect delight and I really liked how Soren was integrated into things so that while you do get sexy moments, that's ht the main focus. I'm excited to see what the future holds for this property and the seeming large plans that they have in store for it as it's off to a great start. Read Full Review

Moreci, Gooden, and Duke definitely stick the landing in Barbaric #3 shooting for both big character and action beats while ending things on the jokey tone that has made this series so endearing. If you want a fantasy comic that isn't full of shit and is self-aware, violent, and makes you deeply care about its (not so) golden trio, the three issues of Barbaric are worth seeking out. Owen and his talking axe have a lot of fighting and maiming to do in ‘Barbaric' #3 before the end of this first story arc. Lucky he enjoys this kind of bloody lifestyle. Read Full Review
