@Psychomoron: classifying people based on what group they belong to rather than assessing them on their individual merits is bigotry. Why do we have to force people into these narrowly defined groups instead of celebrating them as individuals? Also I admit I don’t follow woke science as much as some people but I do have my mask off, as far as I can tell Covid doesn’t transmit through internet forums.

The situation reminds me of a movie The Animal by Rob Schneider, nobody touches the black man despite all the things he does. This is the new fashion. If the movie, novel or comic has a black or homosexual and is bad, few have the balls to say, no thanks, I do not buy your shit, because the talking heads united to the unified will begin to cry.

Why would you ever mention a Rob Schneider movie? That's downright offensive. But as to your point, I don't think that's accurate at all. At least in the circles I navigate, if something is shit, it's shit. Regardless of how diverse the story is. If you think I'm full of shit, just go look at my reviews for several of these sorts of anthologies, and you'll see I'm not exactly bursting with praise for most of them.

The problem is when you have people like Rasiel, or Merlyn, or ARTICULAT3, or Sup3rsa1yan1990, or Foxter, who insist on making their reviews all about the diversity in these stories. That calls into question whether they are reviewing these stories for their merit or whether they are letting their backwards social or political stances determine their opinions. If these people didn't constantly bring up the diversity in a negative context, they wouldn't be labeled bigoted.

And if you take into account the other things they've said and liked elsewhere on the site, it quickly becomes apparent that this isn't just a case of bad wording, but rather just another indication of their reprehensible views.

This kind of cheap virtue signaling is dehumanizing and offensive. Black people are often trapped in high crime areas with failing school systems. Asians are systematically discriminated against while applying to college. Transgender people suffer from high degrees of mental illness and suicide rates 18 times that of the normal population. And the solution is to come up with a comic book that “celebrates” these groups and pretends the real struggles individuals in these groups face on a day...

...to day basis are somehow solved because people like psychomoron can buy the comic and feel good about themselves? How does this help the person that’s actually struggling?
