Truly beautiful. Picked this up on free comic day and went back and read the entire series. It's hard to rate these books individually but if I must I say 10!!!!

Immortal X-Men (2022) #12

I had zero idea what was going on but I loved it. This feels like the good writing Claremont used to do. Destiny is young? Awesome. I'll go back and read this series from issue one but I wanted to rate this before I did as a testament to how good it was. Out of comics for YEARS and I still loved a book in which I had no clue what the hell was happening. That's pretty good writing. Also, this cover is BEAUTIFUL!

Rogue & Gambit (2023) #4

I went back and read this series from the beginning so I wouldn't be lost and I'm sorry I did. This is not good in my opinion. Gambit is a drunk here but that doesn't mean he should act like a child. I think the writer is trying to boost Rogue at the expense of Gambit and it really sucks. Apparently they are married now which is great. They were my favorite couple in comics back in my comic reading days. Only Jesse and Tulip ranked higher for me. Here they seem like they should never have gotten hitched. Why have heroes marry if your just gonna do this to them? I hate to say that maybe this writer is a feminist who is letting her feelings override the story or she just doesn't know the history of these two very well. Being a woman I hate saying that but it feels that way, but I have been out of the loop for about twenty years so lots of things have probably changed. Gambit is moronic in this series and that's not who I want to read about. This will probably be my last issue of this series. Makes me so sad.

X-Men: Before The Fall (2023): Mutants' First Strike #1

I haven't read comics in years. The last time I really did was the 90's when X-Men and vertigo were life for me. Fast forward thirty years and my kids are grown and I've decided to take up reading comics again. With the internet it's easier than ever. My ex husband recommended I start with powers/house of X and I loved them. I chose this next since it's new and a one shot. After reading this I'm a little disappointed. This is just the same old stuff they were doing back in my day but this version seemed pompous for some reason. I really didn't like the X-Men. That threw me for a loop. Disliking my favorite team? It may just be this writer or a fluke. I thought this was very boring as well. If I paid five bucks for it I'd be mad as hell. It may also be that I've skipped a lot of plot line since house/powers first came out but it didn't seem reading this needed much backstory. I will say I loved seeing Warren in his X-Factor style outfit. I hope future X reading goes better. I'm sure it will.

X-Men: Red (2022) #12

I had no idea what was going on here. So off to wikipedia I went. After researching a little I re-read this and was very entertained. I'm still missing some of the story but after reading about Mars and X of swords I understood enough. Still sad I didn't get to see Apocalypse here. Having been out of the comics game since 96' I read powers/house of X and X-Men before the fall first and this is my next X comic. Really great writing here and just the right amount of humor. Al Ewing did great and I may start his Immortal Hulk series soon. I'll go back and read this series from the beginning so next issue I'll be more informed.
