A Righteous Thirst for Vengeance #11

Sep 14, 2022

This was exactly what it was supposed to be. Great art. Stripped down revenge tragedy. Solid storytelling all around.

New Mutants (2019) #24

This… was horrible. Page after page of lines like “Your love is fierce and beautiful.” Panel after panel of besties and BFFs affirming each other’s traumas and healing. Gross. Stories that are “character-driven” don’t need to feel like extended counseling sessions. Just awful.

This comic has not skipped a beat in the 3 year hiatus.

Darrow is a master craftsman, and every comic he creates is a joy - albeit a bloody one.

This was an absolutely beautiful comic. The art is fantastic, and I'm a sucker for a quest narrative. Looking forward to this limited series.

What's The Furthest Place From Here? #4

This is a fun read so far, and the world building is as solid as the characters.

Hot diggity!! This was actually a really great issue! It’s about time. I hope #25 keeps up the momentum.

X-Men: The Trial of Magneto (2021) #5

I feel bad for Williams because all the incels and sad puppy types are always cunning for her and Tini Howard. So I’m hesitant to write a bad review. However, this was a terrible story arc that was convoluted and went nowhere. Just like with X-Factor, Williams was given a solid premise, and she squandered it on “character-driven” narrative that treads water the entire time.
