This overall exploration of what it means to be in the mind of someone who has been what he has been and how his mind is dealing now that he has both his freedom and his memories is excellent and made me go from someone reading the comic as a just-about fan of the previous series and a big fan of Valiant, to someone who now REALLY wants to read the next issue and see what happens. Couple that with the snap-shots we get at the end, from upcoming issues and my eyes were like dinner-plates at the possibilities. |

Valiant continues their production of good, solid reading with this comic and series as a whole and Jeff Lemire continues to show why he is one of the most respected writers in the industry today. |

Still a damned excellent series and one of the best reads in their catalogue right now " that says a lot considering it's been competing with the likes of Divinity, Ninjak and Ivar, Timewalker. |

I would recommend this as an interesting read amongst the powered/hero comics and a change from the more usual obvious bad-guys and what-have-you. It's a mini-series, it's half over and definitely been fun and that alone makes it something worth trying. That it's written by Kot who is also the man behind the excellent Bucky Barnes ongoing over at Marvel and that Valiant has consistenly made quality comics all adds up to a series you should read just because there's no down-side. Period. |

All in all this is a good opening salvo for a sequel to one of the biggest cult-books/movies of the past couple of decades. There is scope for immensely crazy things to happen and the stakes have never been higher " but it all hinges on the characters and their evolution and I hope that Palahniuk and team remain up to the task. |

A light, fun read that I did in fact enjoy. If you are a fan of kaiju based comics and movies, most definitely pick this up because flaws and all, it is a fun and quite unique little comic and I still see potential for it to get better as it goes along. For others, it's fun, it's a change and it's something new and different. It's what attracted someone like me who likes to dabble and if you feel you are an open-minded sort who likes to do that, it's a better choice than many new comics that you might come across. |

For fans of the original series, fans of steampunk and even fans of Vampirella, I would say do give this comic and this series a chance. With the world of Legenderry, the folks at Dynamite took a big chance and have really lucked out and so have readers like me who largely enjoy more non-superhero fare. |

I would read more of this. My problems with the comics not-withstanding, for now the story remains entertaining and the backup content " strips starring "Little Dick" the warlock and a short tale about the troll "Tim" from the main story " really add to the chuckles and do give us something more to the story we just read. I remain uncertain about how they will maintain this dense-level of comic and fast pacing without burning through too much too fast, but until then this promises to be a fun, laugh-inducing comic that fantasy fans with a sense of humour should get a real kick out of reading. |

Firstly, this is an excellent comic and I would definitely recommend it to one and all. Be you a spandex fan, a non-superhero fan or just anyone who likes a good action comic " this is one that is both a great entry point and an engaging read for new and old fans. Secondly, while I have concerns as raised above, I take comfort that Kindt has shown his mettle and will eventually assuage all my doubts once he addresses them. In the meantime, I plan to enjoy the comic for what it is right now and try not to nit-pick so much. |

Despite the backup being a tad weaker story-wise, overall the book remains good and the main story is still taut, exciting and great fun. |

Whatever it turns into, this first issue is a solid entry and is good enough to make me want to read the next and is genuinely a change from the gory, over-the-top and supernatural-dependant horror we've been saturated by and for that alone I would recommend giving it a shot. |

A good, solid adaptation of an understandably hard-to-adapt and strange TV series, the comic is enjoyable and will be fun for both fans of the show and people with a slightly kooky sense of humour. It could definitely do with some work though and I hope that this is just teething pains as they find their feet in a new medium. |
