Not just for foodies, "Flavor" #2 will pique the interest of those looking for a playful fantasy mashup of Lucy Knisley's Relish, Natalie Riess' Space Battle Lunchtime, and Attack on Titan.

"The Standoff" is just clich enough to pack no real surprises or create suspense, even in its teaser reveal for issue #2. An okay read for those who find comfort in action-packed, gory predictability but otherwise, a pass.

Like preview night, "The Long Con" has provided a glimpse of what is to come, with expectations of further exposition and backstory mixed with continued effectively simple humor and solidly drawn visuals.

Although "The Magic Order" #1 serves largely as an introduction to the characters, and to a slightly lesser degree the world, it sets the reader up for an engrossing, fantastical whodunit.
