While the first issue of Black Eyed Kids is far from satisfying, the dark, creepy art and mysterious intrigue of the story might be enough to keep readers invested. If the pacing problem can be figured out, the comic has the potential to be a unique series.

Citizen Jack is off to a good if tad bit slow start. The political satire clashes a little bit with the supernatural horror, but seems to be doing a good job of tying the two together. The art is good, if flawed, and the upcoming comic issues will determine whether or not Citizen Jack can hold its own in Image's ever expanding library.

Descender #11 is a dramatic conclusion to yet another satisfying arc. Its got gorgeous art, complex characters, and plenty of ways to pull out your heartstrings. Recommend for fans of science fiction with heart.

Of course, this is a matter of taste. Depending on how one likes storytelling, minimalist or maximalist, some readers will provide the patience to continue reading the series, or are willing to stick around for the art alone. Despite the extreme minimalist story, From Under Mountains remains a unique comic in the audacious 8house series, and will satisfy anyone looking for something different.

Punisher #1 is a promising start. While simple in plot, the action and characters are strong, and the exploration into Frank Castle's humanity could make an interesting theme if explored properly. It's a solid read and highly recommended for fans of the character and new readers alike.

Saga #31 continues to prove the series reputation as one of the best ongoing series currently published. Gorgeous art, serious drama, and positive LGBT representation are all found in a masterfully crafted package. Also, fan-favorite character Izabel returns after a long absence.

Saga #33 is a solid read for fans. The pace might seem slow, but it definitely pays off. Readers who are LGBTQ+ or allies will definitely get a kick out of the increasing importance of queer characters. Plus, another fan favorite character returns, although maybe not how readers expected. Yet another great issue of a great series.

Saga #34 is a solid issue with great art, strong storytelling, and serious themes for intellectual discussion. It's a turning point in this story arc and pinpoints to epic events on the horizon. Strongly recommended for fans, newbies, and lovers of good stories in general.

Saga #35, despite its difficulty balancing the separate plots, is still a satisfying read with great art and storytelling. It remains one of the best comics on the stands, and I eagerly await the conclusion to this arc. I highly recommend it.

Saga #36 is a wonderful, suspenseful conclusion to an emotionally-charged story arc. Despite some themes going unresolved, the gorgeous art and life-affirming message will resonate with readers. Highly recommended.

Despite its flaws, Southern Cross #6 is a great read. Trippy horror art from Andy Belanger and a creepy plot worthy of Lovecraft makes it one of the most unique comics in both sci-fi and horror. With what looks like more to come in the second arc, Southern Cross is a cult classic in the making for Image's extraordinary catalog.

With gorgeous art, an interesting plot, and woman-empowering message, Stjepan Sejics Switch is off to a good if convoluted start.

With fantastic art, unique world building, and an intriguing cast of characters, The Autumnlands #7 picks up where the first arc left off with promises of bigger, better stories on the horizon.

With great art and complex storytelling, The Autumnlands continues to be one of the best sci-fi/fantasy books on the shelves. Even though it is only 8 issues in, big things are already on the horizon for the story that will make it an instant classic.

With detailed art, surprising character growth, and a set up for bigger revelations, The Autumnlands #9 is a satisfying entry in the smash hit fantasy series. If youre a dedicated fan, there is no reason you shouldnt pick up this issue.
